I guess it is true. Black people are harder on each other than any other race ever will be.

Reeves knew what he was doing. He was, from my perspective, positioning himself among some movers and shakers, working on his hustle. I'm not mad at him... he took advantage of the opportunity.

This is hilarious. I tried to get involved with the Oakland NAACP when Shannon was there and ended up turned off completely. This is after I joined the LA chapter while I was in college(go Bruins!). I paid my money and didn't hear a thing until 18 months after I "joined". I never couldget info about what was going on the community.


Oh well... the NAACP is not for me.

I'll have to look for his commentary. Rhetoric is rhetoric no matter which side it comes from.

Even though I am an Obama supporter, I am all for people being allowed to express different opinions respectfully. Everyone on this board doesn't feel the way I do, but I can deal with it.

2) If you would like to see a list of McCain or Clinton contributers that have been convicted of a crime, I'm sure someone can oblige. Name one politican that doesn't know someone that has issues and I'll gladly be quiet.

I agree. We don't all have to support Obama, but at what point do Clinton supporters act as though they have some class??? It isn't about Hillary... let's move on as one party. Right now we are STILL horriby divided.

I was excited, but yes, hoonestly, I questioned if he had a real chance to win the nomination. This was prior to Elizabeth Edwards' announcement that her cancer had returned. Initially, I thought he might have a btter chance as someone' running mate. About 6 months later in the fall of 2007, I started to believe he had a real chance. Winter 07 I was sure of it and Jan 08 was the clincher.

I wish Bob Johnson would sit the hell down and be quiet. When have you ever seen the folks that lose the nomination force thmselves as a VP nominee. I am serious considering canceling my season tickets for the Bobcats.

I hear you also. That's why I ask for intelligent/relevant converation and debate. :-) That I can respect!! I have issues with rhetoric in general.

I don't have a problem with Blacks that support Hillary. I may not understand it but they are entitled to their opinions as I am entitled to mine.


My wish for all people of like and differing opinions is for intelligen/relevant conversation and debate. Again, we are not one monolithic body. Our experiences and views are as varied as any other group.

Why would the Obama campaign want to hire Clinton's folks?? They haven't exactly done a bang up job for Clinton.

I don't know what your problem is, but I asked a serious question and was looking for an answer. I never said I was neutral. If I supported Hillary, I would have no prolem making my point known. If you really don't have anything to add to the discussion, why speak.



It's none of your business, but for record, I have been a financial contributer and supporter of Senator Obama since Feb 2007.

I'm an Obama supporter but I recognize that not ALL Black people are going to support him. Some might support Hillary and some might even support McCain. I'm open to discussing and debating the issues with other African Americans, but I'm concerned that we want "Blacks" to be of one mind only when it is convienant for us.

I'm wondering why CNN is releasing early Indiana results. Are the polls closed there?


The polls in Charlotte are open for another 45 min. I'm about to head down to my polling place to make sure anyone in line by 7:30 is allowed to vote.

I will agree to disagree. I'm not sure of your intent. I would need to see a lot more to call Colin Powell a war criminal. That stance seems more than extreme to me.

Was this news? The scenes behind the candidates are always staged.


The rallies and obama events I have attended have all had way more caucasians than people of color. I doubt they needed to run out and hire extras as stand ins.

What are you referring to? Serious question. Most of us take statements of fact from fellow bloggers with a grain of salt.

Hmm... Judge the man entirely on the basis of one event. A lot of us have been judging folks harshly that have done that to Wright. Are we so much more willing to do so to Powell because he worked under the Bush adminstrations?



I am still not convinced that he went on a campaign to Lie to the public and UN about Iraq.

I guess I am in the minority. I think it is a little unfair to call the man "unprincipled" and "cowardly". He had a difficult working relationship with the Bush2 cabinet. His resgination told me a lot.


RE: Lying to the UN and others. I thought it was reported at the time that Powell questioned some of the 'evidence' that was used to support the administration's claims.



Let's make this personal. Your job is to advise the president/CEO and be a company spokesperson. The CEO and the rest of his executive do not agree with you and tend to not heed your advice. What do you do? Do you give your presentation to the baord with the disclaimer that you don't agree, but this is the direction the CEO wants to take?? Or do you handle that part of your job and present the committee's findings?? You've tried to do you job and advise the president to the best of your abilities.





Just another perspective. I don't have to agree with all of his actons, but I can recognize the difficult position that it seems he found himself in. I'm not going to discredit the man's entire career and his current works because of his original statements regarding Iraq. I look at the majority of the statements and actions during his tenure and evaluate appropriately.

I think contacting your local officials that are super delagates is a great idea. I contacted my local city councilman a few months ago even though we have not had our our primary. She hasalready pleged her support for Hillary.


Basically, her response was that she had been friends will the Clintons for many many years and had pleged her support at the start of the campaign. However, if Barack won the nomination, she would support his candidacy.



Interesting exchange. I plan on keeping it in mind when she runs for office again. :-)
