in NimbleBit » Zero Gear Trailer 1 on The NimbleBit Blog
The game looks great but that trailer is awful. The beginning is headache inducing - I had to physically turn away from the blurred flashing images, please tone down either the blurring or the flashing or both - and the trailer somehow fails to capture the essence of the game. The second half of the trailer is fine but still missing that 'polished video' feel, although the game itself looks very nice.

in I want to start an Online Ebay Business, what should I sell? on EBusiness Geek
Hi Matt,
If you want to sell small to medium items and not too expensive, chances are, you are not going to make money on ebay. The running around you are going to be making with very tight margins will be the death of you. However, you might take a look at and you will be able to have your very own ebay info store and will not involve you making trips to the post office. It might also help looking into drop shipping. If you know about dropshipping then that is a start,if you don't, have a read about it at.
Matt, try to think about niches.First of all, there is no chance on God's earth that you can compete with the big guys on ebay.If you are passionate about something, try to find an angle whereby you will be able to monetize the situation.Think outside the box, don't try to sell to the whole world, find the niche that you can present to the world either through ebay or your own site.Keep your eyes peeled when you are about your local stores, there could be bargains that you could exploit on ebay.Whatever you decide to sell, i hope its a prosperous one.
Don't even think about competing with the big guys on ipod and nintendo because they buy in bulk and have the contacts.Find your niche.
Good luck Matt

in It’s My Party, But I Don’t Feel Part of It–Reprinted from The Washington Post.com (Print Edition will run in this Sunday’s Outlook) on Political Intersection
Really a struggle, huh?

Wow! Seemed like a no-brainer to me, and I'm not even black.

I guess you have to be kind of "special" to be that conflicted, especially when one takes into account that being born black in the US is like finding yourself at the plate with the count 0-2 and the bases empty...and your team five runs behind in the bottom of the ninth. (Should I even try?)

You've made a splendid attempt at redefining denial. Nothing more.

But one couldn't expect less. (Right?)

Best,

Charlie

in What a Difference a Day Makes on Itisi
A belated happy birthday from the former Admiral Pooper (yes, I'm still alive and kicking).

And it's great to know that the civilized world is celebrating with America and the hope we have for Obama.

And I can spend an hour just looking at all the stuff on your two sidebars; soon, you'll need three.

And finally, I didn't know that the surname "x" was English. Huh.

in Manchester City Is The New Chelsea Of Premier League | EPL Talk on EPL Talk
I suspect you're right, Gaffer. Just to play Devil's Advoccate though... A team owner can spend all the money he wants to on players, but it doesn't necessarily guarantee the team will go out and win championships. Just ask George Steinbrenner.

I predict that 10 years from now, one or more of these three things will happen:

1) Every Premiership team will be owned by rich Middle Eastern oil families who will think nothing about spending £30M on a backup keeper, just because they can...

2) There will be some sort of salary cap in European football.

3) The Prem as we know it today will no longer exist -- The Big Four will have broken away to form some sort of a Super League with Big Fours from other major European leagues. (What would become of the Champions League in this scenario would be an interesting discussion).

in Manchester United Signs Dimitar Berbatov For £30.75 Million | EPL Talk on EPL Talk
Spurs had United by the balls and they knew it. Fair marks to them for sticking to their guns on Berbatov's price tag.

Even though I believe United overpaid for Berbatov, I think this ends up being a Win-Win situation for them: 1) Obviously, getting Berbatov, and 2) Campbell should have a much better chance at first team football at Spurs while on his loan than he would have this year with United.

Manucho could also being a big beneficiary out of this. I would think he will take Campbell's role as United's fourth striker now. Fergie raves as much about his potential as he has Campbell's, and he had also enjoyed an excellent ACN tournament. But, like Campbell, how many minutes will he get? I wouldn't think he'd get a lot, but he should get a few here and there as well as time in the reserve squad. That is, once he gets over his injury.

in Disgraceful on EPL Talk
Personally, I thought it was funny. I'm not convinced it was intentional, but whether it was or not I wouldn't have had a problem if Scholesy had been given a straight red for it -- the rules are the rules.

As a United supporter, I can tell you that if that goal had actually stood through some incredible fluke of luck, I would have been embarassed. We didn't deserve to win this match.

Note to United: This is what happens when you try to "mail it in." It was a thorough ass kicking, and Zenit deserves full marks for their delivery said kicking. I have no doubt The Hairdryer was blasting away at warp speed following the match.

in Fox Soccer Channel Drops The Ball With Premier League TV Coverage on EPL Talk
Someone in a previous thread bashing Fox Soccer Catastrophe made the observation that FSC was like a public access channel trying to cover football. It's such a perfect analogy that I'm going to repost it in this thread.

I had already knew better than to make the mistake of watching FSC's pre-match show over Setanta's. When it comes to studio analysis, FSC isn't fit to shine Setanta's boots.

If it weren't for Bobby McMahon on that mess FSC calls a "Soccer Report," I wouldn't watch that either.

I better sign off before I get *really* upset. :-P

in United Must Recruit a Masterful Striker to Bolster Their Trophy Hopes on EPL Talk
I still believe the guy SAF really wanted was Benzema, but that's not going to happen. But I don't think Berbatov would have trouble fitting in at United.

Karthik... the problem with Manucho is he still doesn't have a work permit.

in The First Coaches Poll: Are They Even Paying Attention? | NittanyWhiteOut on NittanyWhiteOut
Your 6-year old next door neighbor knows more than the coaches during the preseason Freddie. This is the same preseason poll where Duke used to (until this year it seems) get an automatic vote from Steve Spurrier as a thank you for his first shot at a head coaching job. If the coaches don't even take their preseason votes seriously, why should you?
.
As for the "coaches that are actually out there working with these young men" argument? It is just naive to think that Jim Tressel or even Rich Rod spends their time evaluating the ranking position of any team other than their own. Most coaches poll ballots are not even filled out by the head coaches, so you might want to know that before you berate someone else.
