We've already started to proactively reach out to women, so we can be more representative of the community. That being said I would still love to get the names of others that we should be talking to. In my opinion, having heard you speak at the podcast expo, you should be at the top of the list. I just hope everyone can understand that launching a new magazine is never an easy task. Doing it in only 4 months and publishing in 3 formats makes it even more challenging. To be blunt we were rushing around like crazy just to get content written & edited, that we didn't stop for a second to consider gender (or racial for that matter) balance. We will in the future.

Re: Technorati and the blog search wars

David Sifry has some more interesting comments that will be published in two weeks in Blogger & Podcaster magazine as part of our industry leaders roundtable he participated in. You can get it by subscribing for free at www.bloggerandpodcaster.com or just email me (lgenkin@larstan.net) and I'd be happy to send you a copy of the story.

Re: WaJaGDH

Agreed. The irony is amusing, but it's not the full story. Blogger & Podcaster (www.bloggerandpodcaster.com) is also published in digital and podcast formats. The first magazine in history to launch in 3 distinct formats.

- Larry
Publisher
Blogger & Podcaster Magazine

Re: My Industry’s First Magazine Falls Short of Being Inclusive

Leesa, as Blogger & Podcaster's publisher I want you to know I hear and appreciate your (and Karin's) criticism. You will need to cancel if you don't wish to continue after the first month, however we make it very simple to do (web and phone) if you don't wish to continue after the first month. Hopefully the value of the program is such that many can test this for a little while without breaking the bank.

Larry Genkin
Publisher
Blogger & Podcaster Magazine
www.bloggerandpodcaster.com

Re: USA Today Gives Bloggers Free Ads | How to Get Yours

Barbara, glad you like the changes to the guide. We're working really hard to try and make it easy for mainstream America to find blog/podcast content. In answer to your question about ratings -- any registered user can rate a blog or podcast according to our "5 Star" system. Also they can leave comments. We'll be adding functionality shortly that will allow users to sort on the basis of: Rating, Alphabetical and Newest. I'd love to hear any suggestions to as to what we can do to improve The Blogger & Podcaster Guide. Email me at lgenkin[at]larstan[dot]net.
