Getting really annoying (actually already past that point I guess) that this still isn't working for me. No problems at all on my other machine. Network doesn't seem to be the issue because it doesn't work when using my work wired/wi-fi connection or my home wired/wi-fi connection. Not seeing any oddities in my firewall settings either.

Re: Want 5,000 Gallons of Gas on Microsoft’s Dime?

Nice! I'd had my console a little less than a year when I got the RRoD. Microsoft was great about getting me a refurbished unit quickly before Christmas time. They did set aside a ton of money to offest costs for the repairs. My brother-in-law go the RRoD shortly after I received mine. We got our machines for Christmas together. Hopefully they've worked through the issues, but I'm sure there are still lots of first issues that will end up having the problem initially. I setup a console tracker on my website for everyone that has experienced the RRoD and received a replacement.

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » Launching Satellites With A Magnetic Slingshot

Robert Heinlein just wrote about it, these guys are doing it. I'm not sure how much air pressure it would take to force 220lbs to 6 miles per second, but that seems a little too much like the old Air Jammer Road Rammer toys I got for Christmas about 25 years ago.

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » Artista 730E Windows Powered Sewing Machine - Will Run Doom One Day

Pretty cool! But why in the world would they decide to use a proprietary memory card format. It is a bit pricey, but I'm sure that price will drop significantly when the novelty and newness wears off a bit.

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » Full Scale Mousetrap Kinetic Sculpture

That's just the coolest, especially that it uses bowling balls as well. Is there a limit to how many you can hook up to a laptop? Right now I've got a 2nd monitor, but I'd like to possibly add a third for when I'm in the office. If I could keep it plugged into a USB port replicator that would be perfect!

Re: Ragamuffin Soul » NINTENDO - All The Games Online!!!

Now if someone would just make an old NES controller that would plug into a USB jack. I think the best thing this does is put some more competition in the market for Microsoft to continually improve and evolve. Middleware may be an option, but I just don't think it's there yet, or will be soon. If the browsers and online items can't agree on simple stuff like CSS standards, I don't see a wide acceptance needed for middleware to gain enough ground for Google office apps to be much more than they are now.

Re: A new conference Microsoft should pay attention to

I agree with Jeff, it's a good idea, but there are currently just too many hurdles to overcome with your complete application not being available offline whenever necessary.

Re: Microsoft’s Yahoo Rebound; Now Looking to Marry Facebook?

I'm a Microsoft fan, but they have problems with public image for obvious reasons.
