By the way, the girl in a man's white shirt, the one who supposed to imitate Fiqa one. Is she one of those winners at #14, she's my housemate? Cos apparently someone from the ground took her name as soon as she got off the stage.

Let me know, I'll email you her contact if yes.

It was a great night indeed.... Congratulations to you and nuffnang.

By the way, had I known that I would get a kiss from her as a reward, I would have worked harder to earn my nuffnang $. To be honest, after all the betting I still had nuff$100, but I chose to give all of them to someone (instead of the wiser choice of begging and soliciting 'duit kopi' from the nuffies).

All because I entertained the hope of me joining Zaid Ibrahim as one of Malaysian biggest philanthropists. Well, maybe a career as a gym instructor will earn my way with those hot.... erm I mean earn me a great deal of $.

Let me know if you have any GI offers coming up. love you dear

This is truly surprising beyond words. Yeah, mari sama-sama tumpang gembira. I just can't sleep now until I heard enough. But now the burden lies on both sides. The opposition in the 4 states must prove their worth and cooperate professionally.

I like to see the opposition strengthened for a democratic Malaysia, and they have better make good use of this giant leap of faith, Malaysians fear no more, they fear May 13 1969 no more, They are confident, they are capable. It's a whole different meaning for Malaysia Boleh altogether, on this day, in this dawn.

Youth, kids, peers, old men, apek, amuh, liang loi. liang cai, let us keep on taking part in civil society. Continue to critically observe both government and the opposition. Let us build this country, a country which we all can take pride in.

Work hard for a better future, let this define us in a whole new meaning. No more are we complacent, no more are we apathetic, no more are we selfish, no more are cowards. We are a whole different breed, Malaysians rise!

To umami and ceres

I hope you get to read this, if you don't I hope our adamant Pinkpau here email it to you.

First of all, about your point that no government is perfect, well that's why we have democracy dear. It's for the Rakyat to check on them. And I don't agree with you saying that since the Opposition is no better than the government then we should abstain from voting for the Opp or not at all. Isn't that perpetuating the already nonchalantness on the part of the Government in taking our rights in the Constitution for granted.

It's naive to expect and wait for a good opposition and a good government. You'll never get the one you're happy with period. I emphasised never. But note this, what you can get (and might lose in future) is your freedom to influence how this country is run. If you're not happy with BN, i suggest you to make your choice. You're going to make a point to not just BN, but also opposition parties, that they can lie and cheat us all they want, but the people will eventually have the final say.

About the indelible ink, I agree somewhat it may affect our constitutional right to vote. But really, who in their right mind would be so unreasonable for just a slight mark of Indian ink? I mean you go to nightclubs and parties don't you, don't you ever get that silly cute awesome mark on your forearm? And even if it's really an issue, why didn't they scrap it up earlier? It's just plain irresponsible to have spent millions of Rakyats money you know and it surely doesn't go well with the Opposition parties who also has stake in the election.

About Bahasa Malaysia (Melayu)? What has that got to do with Anwar Ibrahim's credibility? If I'm the education minister, I'll be the first in line to propose in favour of Bahasa Melayu name. You speak English right, you don't speak Americanish or United Kingdomese do you? Kidding....

About the oil price, true that Malaysians are spoilt, but are they prepared for it? Have you checked how much Petronas earn? It's like, "Hey Pak Lah, I'm pretty darn literate enough to know that the Americans might attack Iraq for a reason (chill dude, no speculation here), but you might at least give us a raise and stop bullshitting about how low our inflation is" You get where I'm going kid, man, woman, ma'am? The Australians got the among the highest income tax in the world, but they have enough to live a decent lifestyle (or rather fatty be the correct adjective, can someone cite the latest statistics on Australian health, will ya?). It's not about reducing oil price my friend (sorry if I'm being rude here, pretty excited here about the election), it's about whether we are ready. Plus if we can impose higher price on Pinkpau's rich boyfriend or give incentives to Pinkpau's poor friends like me, and the rest of us here, so be it. Don't listen to Najib, it's just plain cruel for someone who earn RM150 a day to see the oil price skyrocket like what 150% the next day.

In the end of the day, not voting at all means that you are also voting for BN in our system, in the end of the day, what really matters here is whether you like how's the country being run or not. You may well remember about the lesson BN had in the 1990s when they had the shock of their lives when mommy give them a smaller slice of the pie. There was strong political pressure even within BN itself, and guess what you've got. Wawasan 2020 (when's that going to happen again, 2051?) and Cyberjaya, and many more. But what've you got with Pak Dollah's apparently 90%majority (only 60%of the total Rakyat's votes), Hindraf detention, ZamZam outstanding performance on Al-Jazeera, erection erection? Hishammudin Hussein keris?

Think about it ya mate....

If it's any comfort check out the report about the Rashid's house being painted red by some vandals.

The Opposition candidates are facing serious shortage of volunteers including polling agents on March 8, unlike the BN ones who could easily hire as many as they want, remember free nasi lemak and T-shirts at Lembah Pantai?

Anyway, I hope everybody try to volunteer themselves at the nearest polling stations. Polling agents for those who don't know are representatives from each political party that observe and confirms to which party the ballots belong before they are counted. So in fear of an abuse, I believe everybody should try get in touch with local opposition team to ask if they need any help.

About Khairy, oh please, he's just a flower on the outside, but a weed in the inside. That's like Myanmanr current junta leader. Indiscriminate spilling of blood, but a gentle touch for diplomats. That's successful politicians' forte. Are we suppose to give in to that in this day and age where every vote will embed Malaysia forever in her fate?

Well, answer. Wake up people, the blacks' rights were a foregone reality when Martin Luther King took their cause to the urban streets. But it ain't stopping them.

Democracy and freedom is like a feeble flame, it's bright and it gives light to pitch darkness. You must keep putting in firewoods to keep it burning, you must constantly protect it from the cold threatening wind. The moment you stop putting the fuel, the moment you get easy with it, it's gone. Back into that chilly solitude you will.

Can you ever get back light? Yes you can, but it aint easy.

Great post there mate... We must put an end to this defeatist mindset. If you have a problem, deal with it. You're just going to be haunted by this guilt if you don't vote.

Song Jun, you're right about the cabbie, You back out and managed to see the whole picture.

Why rally for elections? 'cause that's one of the things that we need to stand up for. If you're going to organise a rally for cleaner ACA and police force, God-willing, by all means, go ahead. I'm sure a lot more will join the rally. We could do with some more demo to show the PM who's the boss.

Moral of the story? It's always greener on the other side of the fence to mean "let us stick where our arse is, and don't think about migrating too soon" ;)

To kez,

Here's a story;

Once there's a village where there's a heavy dark cloud looming the whole area. The villagers had many problems and were sad.

One day, a stranger came. And he asked the villagers what's wrong. They replied they couldn't solve their problem.

The stranger had an idea, he made them put their own problems into their own respective bags. And then hanged them along a line. Tomorrow they were going to run and grab the bag they wanted. Each of them had planned of taking another person's bag for they assumed the other person's problems would be less problematic.

The next day, all the villagers lined up. They waited for the whistle to blow, so they can run after the bag they want. Some of them were surprised to find the other person's bag heavier and larger, they assumed they were better off.

When the whistle finally blowed, none of them had even made a move. The stranger asked them why the hesitation, they replied that they weren't sure if they could handle the other person's problems. They were afraid that the problem would be too strange for them, and they would not have the experience or skill to deal with it.

So each of them took back their own bags of problems. Moral of the story? :)

Your story came up in Jeff 4 Malaysia.

This is a country that has seriously gone wrong.

Look at what happened to the Bar Council. After that Zam made a bit of noise, the police went on to pressure the Bar Council to get a police permit, permit to act on your inalienable right, the right to walk, movement and peaceful assembly. And to make matters worse, they also demanded for permit for their event at the Central Market, and tomorrow the Bar had to move all the Festival of Rights celebration indoor. Can you see how ridiculous this is? Clearly they're teasing the Bar around until they had to cower to their own building.

This week, the worst being the charging of the 31 protesters of murder, and worse deny them the bail. The trial would only start next yr, and God knows how long the trial would finish. Look at Altantuya. We all must remember some of these individuals were caught for having happened to be there, they may not be taking part in the rally, and then to charge them with attempted murder? Can anybody tell us how different we are from dictator states? Isn't this supposed to be a democracy? Well I guess not.

But the real question is will Malaysians make a stand? Against this travesty of justice? I dunno, maybe not, I hope I'm wrong. But only recently I came across a comment that said the opposition is no better. What a DEFEATIST bloody mind they got there. Are they saying they'll vote the gov't despite what has happened recently? How bleak is Malaysia's future. I feel that we have nobody but ourselves to cast that protest vote because the mainstream media is well within their grip and a hell lot of gullible Malaysians actually take that for a word.

Going back to my classmates, my friends around me, everybody within my vicinity, virtually none of them had a clue, well they knew a bit what happened, but they couldn't even form an opinion of whether what the govt did was wrong or not. They couldn't judge themselves. They just like err.....or hehehe... Rock your boat people! Plato said "one of the penalties for not taking part in politics is that you'll be ruled by your inferiors". I came across this proverb from watchman, how true it is for Malaysia.

"Truth be told. If you're looking for the guilty, you only need to look in the mirror.."

Forgive me for my rant.. :)

Chill girl.. Nuffnang is business entity, like all business, it deserves to remodel itself. If it had gone to the point where "our bosses have sleepless nights and dont even declare themselves a salary each month just so they can do this one thing for the blogging community", then I advise Nuffnang to remodel itself so that it earns profit that it deserves as a BUSINESS entity, eg. set a new minimum of traffic hits, higher one. I'm not familiar with Nuffnang, but seriously 21 hits per day? Honestly I think it's too small for a blogger to earn off their entries. Perhaps Nuffnang should also set a new set of criteria, like the ability of the bloggers to attract specific group of readers and to market their ads effectively? A blog that writes about food most of the time, and attracts large readership and appeal to ad clients would definitely deserve the bucks than those who wrote craps or give pseudo-personal comment on them.

My two-cents. Hm.. one of the wonders of blogging is that you get to rant out your anger. Perhaps there should be ads for psychiatric treatment service in blogs that rant the a lot. We all know that we have sad cases of mental illness, the stigma associated with it, and the lack of access to relevant experts, don't we? ;)
