in Terminator Salvation: 20 Things We Didn’t Like, 10 We Did on Film School Rejects
Most film "critics" - and you guys are trying hard to fit into that mold - are either frustrated, failed filmmakers who like to think they can do better (but can't), or simply hate movies while pretending to be fans. It seems you are a bit of both. You are trying way too hard to find faults in what I consider an outstanding film that works perfectly with the world created by the previous three stories. This is an action film - a future war movie - not an intense Greek drama that requires detailed character evolution. It's also science FICTION - not a documentary on how machines would act if they did in fact wage war on the human race. You need to stop hating movies and try to enjoy them. You'll have a lot more fun. But then you can't stand it that other people's ideas are actually getting made while your ideas are, well, I guess pretty worthlesst.

RobertFure I didn't bother reading your post because I'm very important and rich because people pay me to write lists like this because my opinion is fucking awesome. In fact, I'm so fucking awesome that I'm not even writing this - I'm dictating it to my assistant, who still needs to get me a Diet Peach Snapple Green Tea, by the way, don't write that down just do it.

Most "anonymous" commentators are just upset that we didn't like the same movies as they did. Tough nuts.
Cole_Abaius I'm actually a failed plumber, so don't lump me in with these yahoos, but you definitely made some strong arguments about the individual points they made in the article. And wait, am I responding to someone who signs as Anonymous on a comment thread? Damn it.

in Savage: "rogue homosexual elements within Homeland Security are engaging in extra-constitutional activity" on AMERICAblog
The GOP has become a name-calling, anger-provoking radio talk show these days. No wonder Savage is up there with the...ahem....best and brightest of the Republican Party.

If it baffles the Concerned Women for America then whatever Ric Warren is doing is the right thing to do. Keep it up, Ric!

Yeah, you know you haven't made it 'till you have an Honorary from ASU.

I gotta wonder what it must feel like to be a Carolinian listening to Sanford's soft and creepy voice tell me it's government's fault when I lose my job and health insurance and face foreclosure.

At the very least can't this country demand that every gun carry insurance?

in What else would a baker in Turkey produce? on AMERICAblog
This guy, Obama, is very smart. He did more for National Security by talking about working with the Muslim world than Bush ever did with all the US Armed Forces.

A: The Iraq War.

Cheney is such a Dick.

Massachusetts was an anomaly. California was an exception. But Iowa can only be a trend.

in Huge computer virus may hit tomorrow, April 1 on AMERICAblog
I don't believe that's true. Two of the variants of conflickr spread by exploiting an unpatched vulnerability one of the components of the operating system--the uninfected computer inadvertantly trusts the data it gets from the infected computer. It doesn't matter whether one had admin privs or not.

in Huge computer virus may hit tomorrow, April 1 on AMERICAblog
The 60 minutes interview totally missed an important point: Why does Symantec have to provide security updates every *day*? We are supposed to accept the idea that computers are inherently vulnerable to computer viruses and worms?

I suppose I'm not surprised since neither Leslie Stahl nor the Symantec guy bothered to note that Mac OS X and Linux are unaffected. Windows spokesmen, if they do, usually make the limp claim that other operating systems aren't targeted because they don't have the market share---yeah, FUD you.

The bar is pretty low for MS Windows users....you wouldn't know how low unless you normally used Linux or Mac OS X.

in Obama FIRED the head of GM on AMERICAblog
I don't see what all the fuss is about. If these companies get financial help from the US Govt then the Govt has every right to act in it's own interest to protect it's investment.

If Business doesn't like the terms then they can leave the money on the table.

in Redoubt keeps erupting on AMERICAblog
Jindal's willing to screw Louisianans to run for President and he's willing to put us all at greater risk of disaster just to make himself look like a good conservative.

His ambition is clearly in conflict with his responsibilities as governor.

He should resign or promise not to run for higher office.

in BREAKING: UPS stops advertising on O'Reilly after he had ThinkProgress blogger stalked, and talked about assassinating MSNBC employees on AMERICAblog
O'Reilly could've just called Ms. Terkel up. Instead he deliberately tries to terrorize her because she's a woman.

Advertisers ought to be nervous.

in Drug tests for welfare recipients? What about bailout recipients? on AMERICAblog
Obama is letting states decide about Medical Marijuana. The DEA is no longer raiding dispensaries in California and that is a big deal. If it works for him, I'd much rather have my neighbor who suffers from chronic pain using marijuana than using vicodin, oxycontin, or other opiate-containing drug..

I have to say that it's tough to make a call. On one hand, Krugman is one very smart guy but, unlike Obama, he isn't constrained:: the WH is shackled by political considerations.

in Texas reaches for the dark ages, again on AMERICAblog
Next month they're taking up an amendment to challenge the Theory of Gravity. Nobody really knows what it is and it was that Jew Einstein that made the claim about Gravity and the warping of Space-Time.
Mike_G You are suppressing the theory of Intelligent Falling!

Your 'Gravityist' religion deceives you from seeing what everyone knows, that it is the Force Of Jesus that holds us all to the surface of our flat earth as the sun revolves around it.

It's all detailed in the Discovery Institute's latest book, available free to all schools, "Hold Me Down, Jesus: Why Us Good Christians Haven't All Raptured Up to Heaven Yet".

in CNN's Ed Henry tries to explain his "interaction" with Obama (because only 40 million people saw it) on AMERICAblog
This country gave much less scrutiny to Bush's decision to invade Iraq than to Obama's strategy to get us out of the economic hole we're in.

Oh yeah, that question about Racism---that was embarrassing; I winced when the reporter asked it.
