in Video Marketing on The Friday Traffic Report
My camping blog will not be one bit useful to viewers if they can't see videos of how to set up a campfire, how to treat a bee sting, the two most important camping knots... The videos were so popular I got a domain name just for them: www.joyofcamping.TV

Love the father-son story. Drove your point very well.

in Authority Site Review - JoyofCamping.com on The Friday Traffic Report
Hi Jack,
I was thrilled to read your review of my site. The reason you could not 'check in with Myrtha' for the review was because I was on vacation out of the country for 3 weeks. But get this! The traffic did not stop while I was away. I had planned to keep posting but the internet connection from Bali was so bad, and the beaches so beckoning I did not post at all for 3 weeks. I was prepared to see my traffic plummet and was shocked that it held up.

I attributed that to these reasons:
1. By using Wordpress plus ASC techniques, my Search Engine traffic has increased to 65% of total traffic (so I was not 100% new-post dependent).
2. The social bookmark sites I submitted my past posts to (stumbleupon, netscape, etc) continued to bring in traffic long after the post.
3. eZine articles and Squidoo have Google juice. My eZine article comes up on Pg 1 of Google on keywords like camping menus, eurika tent,...
4. The list building you mentioned. I took Rick Butt's recommendation and built a series of weekly emails in aWeber so while I was away, 500 subscribers were still emailed every wk and invited back to the site.
Any of the above are things anyone can do. No magic. Just want to share them to thank you all for your encouraging comments.
p.s. And yes, I did learn all that from the Authority Site Center publishing system.
