Just change the name of your main RSS feed to something like indexfb.xml and point Feedburner to pick that up. Then with the feeds people are subscribed to, just put a redirect in .htaccess that says: Redirect 301 /index.xml http://feeds.feedburner.com/Attentionmax

You can then redirect the Atom, etc. feeds to go to index.xml (or whatever you used to call your main feed) and that will put them into the same loop.

That's how I do it and it works just fine. There are probably better and more complex ways . . .

Re: One Very Cool Taco

I thought I was the only one who got an ice craving after sushi.

Re: Home Depot Pigeon Poops On Toddler

I actually knew someone who was seriously injured by a falling crate at Home Depot.

Re: Home Depot Pigeon Poops On Toddler

Yeah, I agree, whenever I go into Home Depot (very infrequently), I find it takes me 5-10 minutes to locate someone to help me and another 5-10 to follow the directions they gave me.

Re: Home Depot Pigeon Poops On Toddler

Do you think they bought the materials for the crack in Home Depot?

Re: Homedepot.com: A Valuable Media Asset

They should announce that all revenue from this new source will go to customer service.

Re: What Really Matters: Brand Experience & Customer Service

I think you're right Max, at the end of the day all that matters is the customer's experience. Basic SEO is fairly straightforward and there's a hand full of tips everyone could take to heart to help them rank higher (simple stuff like optimizing your title tags so the searchable stuff comes first and using semantic markup). However, the single most important aspect of SEO is the quality of your content: The more people that like it, the more people that link to you, the higher you show up in the results. I mean I get what you mean about Flash/AJAX and the issues it presents, but I think there are larger issues at hand (like brands tend to make useless websites that nobody want to visit).

Re: Curing NASCAR Blindness

On the topic of independent voters, thought this New Yorker piece on Ohio was quite interesting: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/10/13/0...

Re: Boards Summit Tomorrow, Friday 10/24

Of course I'd come check you out if I wasn't on at the same time. But if you've got no plans to iterate and turn it into a full idea you could be in trouble. I think a lot of these ideas come to life when people refuse to share their ideas with others out of fear. They try to get their idea out there as quickly as possible and miss out on the great feedback you get when you share ideas.

Re: Changing Media Economics

Was a great chat Ryan, good, as always, to see you.

Re: From Billings, MT

All the best to you and your family.

Re: Is the internet awesome?

You're welcome :)

Re: Blogging Is NOT a Business

That was what annoyed me so bad about that New York Magazine article, it assumed that all us bloggers were doing it for the money. Terry Heaton had some good comments on how that article missed the point.

Re: Are “Users” Who “Generate Content” Receiving Equal Pay for Equal Work?

Would have paid? While I see your point Scott (and love your Clio/text link line), Google ads work best for people who know what they want. The car industry (and many others), however, are built on convincing people to buy things they don't yet know they want. This is where the more entertaining variety comes in (not that I'm saying the Toyota ads, or just about any other online display advertising, are any good).

What's more, Google et al. are fundamentally different media properties than anything advertisers have used in the past. Never has their been such a good opportunity to get inside the head of a consumer and understand exactly where they are in the purchase process (even point of sale needs to do more selling).

Re: Dreams’ Daily Dosage

Thanks for the shout out Devin and congrats on mindaverse ...

Re: Twitter’s amazing stickiness (with a caveat)

It's actually being built by people putting in their usernames (or other people's usernames) at http://myfirsttweet.com ...

Re: Good conversation with those of Likemind

Hey Tom, glad you enjoyed it, always nice to hear stories of likemind converts.

Re: Good to meet likemind-ed people, again

Thanks for coming by, glad you enjoyed.

Re: Help Change My Life (At Least Musically)

Awesome question Dan. I love it. One of the things friends and I have been trying to do is all compile our top 10 songs of all time lists (with explanations for each song) and then burning CDs for everyone with everyone elses songs. As for me, there aren’t all that many songs that have changed my life, lots that have defined moments of it though. Songs like November Rain by Guns N’ Roses and Definition by Blackstar define musical eras of my life. However, there is one song that comes to mind when you’re talking about life changing (although it hasn’t necessarily changed mine, but I know people who it has and it seems appropriate for this).

That song is Better Son/Daughter by Rilo Kiley. In it, Jenny Lewis begins at a near-whisper over a marching band-esque drum beat sing/speaking:

Sometimes in the morning I am petrified and can’t move
Awake but cannot open my eyes
And the weight is crushing down on my lungs
I know I can’t breathe
And hope someone will save me this time

Then, later she finally pulls out of the whisper, coming in with a scream as she sings:

And sometimes when you’re on
You’re really fucking on
And your friends they sing along
And they love you

It’s amazing and one of those songs I can listen to over and over again (Rilo Kiley is great in general).

Also, and I know I’m getting a bit long-winded at this point, Carla Bruni’s “Quelqu’un m’a dit” is a beautiful French song that does nothing but give me a smile, it’s truly magical (life changing in different ways though, and I’m sticking with Rilo as my choice for you). Hope you enjoy it.
