Mike, it's also got a crappier 9400M that you have to log off to switch to/from. You can't use both at once. So what's the point?

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried the development version but I didn't see a significant performance improvement for this kind of test. The bug sounds like it would be amortized over the cache writes, anyway, so it's not a huge deal right?

Howley, Jim, and Bob, I just got back from work and read your comments. Thanks for pointing out the Newsweek story; it helped clarify Sarah Palin's book-banning incident, which didn't even get to the list stage. As you can see, I've updated the post with that, and a link to the Newsweek piece.

I don't like Palin, or any politicians that bring conservative religious extremism into their policy decisions, but I believe in the spirit of debate. This post isn't a troll.

There are actually continuous models. You can recompute an approximate SVD of the Term-document matrix as new stuff comes in without too much work, it just won't be as accurate...
