The Harry Potter list is another one I've finished. I read 1-6 back to back, then had to wait for 7. And I did enjoy them, but it's been too long for me to remember my favorite. Someday I'll get around to reading them again, I imagine.

I see what you mean. Gorillaz is certainly not on my usual listening list, so I wouldn't have seen it. I used to have a screen saver that had floating cities, kind of like this, so that's another reason I thought it was interesting.

I've heard that many schools have/will be blocking sites like Blogger, Facebook and MySpace. I suspect it is because kids spend too much time on those sites and not paying enough attention to what they are supposed to.

Sure the sculpture is modern and abstract in design. I'm pretty sure that this piece is the current museum President's "sacred cow" at the moment. However, it seems to be accomplishing one of the goals of the Museum: family learning. That is, families come to visit the Museum together, learn as a group and then take that learning home to talk about.

I agree that I would probably have selected something else, possibly an old Mercury-Redstone rocket booster (I heard a rumor that one had been suggested at one time in the past). Now that would be cool.

I certainly don't disagree, Sara. It's all been done before, somewhere. We just may put a new/fresh spin on it.

I think it was designed to be a matte painting. The sort of work filmmakers use for filling in the background of shots. In this case, the artist is certainly using his imagination and using a fanciful setting. I don't know of any manta rays that can fly through the air!

My habit is to choose wallpaper for my computers that is somewhat related to the season. Since this one is more spring than winter...and I thought it was cool/different...I decided to use it for a while.

I figured it was something like that. I just hadn't gone to try to find out. I actually got my binoculars out to look at it cause I was curious and hadn't seen it before.

I'm sure they have other parts of the design process that they work on.

I can do better...I can post a link to my portfolio. But I'll see about posting some here too.

I'm not completely sure what I'd be doing, but my guess is I'll probably be building websites or flash interfaces and elements to sites. At the very least, some portion of the site. Fortunately, many of the internships that are available through the school are paid. So that will help.

Anything I can draw. The point is to sit down and draw something so through practice I get better.

Okay. That makes sense... I did have my phone with me. It was probably trying to get a signal and since it had to try roaming, it kept causing that interferance.

I don't mind at all. I guess they just would think that somehow things will work out and they would see this song as encouragement not to stress out about it so much.
