Additionally it's important to check the New Submissions page on Digg or Reddit every once in a while and vote up the good stories.

Another thing that I do is click the most interesting adword on an article I like. Just wanted to say how much I am using Pandora currently. I just rediscovered it a week ago and I'm so impressed with the music that it plays/suggests.

Re: No One Is Going To Steal Your Idea

Hey man,

Thanks for the link and the thoughts. My eyes popped when I saw "tree-based blogs" becuase that is what I'm working on - but the other direction.

Telling your ideas feels good right? I like the ad idea with the ads and the ranking system.

Cheers,
Mike

Re: I have a great idea, but I can’t tell you

Good post - two quick things to add.

1. With certain friends, I'm the "business guy" so every time they get an idea they tell me. What I've realized about help from others is - you have to take it as far as you possibly can, by yourself before you can really expect someone else to help you. sure I talk with friends about ideas, but my advice is almost always that I'm sure someone else is doing that. Google your idea and find out who else is doing it. This is something easy that anyone can do.

2. I'm working on the next great big idea, who isn't. I am usually not paranoid, but the closer I get to launch the less I want to tell the idea. Maybe there are less people that can actually help me, maybe I'm worried about not being the first to market. Either way I guess the "That's a great idea" from people just isn't as important until the marketing starts.

Re: Radiohead Responds to Download Stats: Says They’re False

Radiohead is actually selling the results of their social experiment for 3.4 million dollars.

Re: Photojojo hits 37,500 subscribers

Amit,

I found you and Photojojo through Noah Brier's site. I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you about scanR which I happen to be reviewing on my site.

ScanR isn't for artistic photo editing, it is more of a business tool. Check it out and see what you think. www.scanr.com/

Congrats on hitting 37.500.

Re: Wanted: Part-time Writer, Actionscript Developer, and a NYC apt for a friend

The roommate finder definitely sounds like a facebook app.

Re: NBC’s TODAY Show Visits Jelly

They need shorter boom mics for NYC apartments.

Looks like you guys got a paint job - it almost matches the background color of the blog.

Re: The Myth of Risky Startups

In a big company if you think you're going to lose your job it seems that the thing to do is get your guard up and protect.

In a startup when the pressure builds you have to fight harder.

What do you think gives the best chance for success?

Re: Need a solid Web 2.0 business idea? I think that it is pretty dangerous to only sell ads.

While reading this post a thought popped in my head - A good amount of web 20 is features (that should be used to increase transactions). Shouldn't every commerce site have a reddit functionality? Shouldn't every product come with the youTube 'how to" video link?

Re: How does the online ad gold rush impact your Web 2.0 site?

Your timing is amazing. I think that the paradigm (sorry, nobody likes that word) involves the center of the web/technology.

MS- center of tech in the 90s

yahoo - first center of the web.

Google - now the brain and circulatory of the web

Myspace - center of the web for many gen y-ers.

The next kick ass company will be your COMPLETELY personalized home on the web and pull all of your fragments together. I'm not saying it's impossible, but a mainstream media company taking to the Internet and beating the small kids (relatively). Let alone two media giants doing it together.

NBC is saying, "hey cyber guys and girls, we're cool too!"I think a good comparison would be your dad hooking up with the hottest girl in the freshman dorm.

Can't wait to see the edgy logo they come up with.

Re: Digg and Reddit: It’s Not Wrong to Create and Submit Your Own Content. This argument that Fiji is doing more than other companies is ridiculous. Fiji is shipping an commodity to the other side of the world. It's a complete waste of energy and unnecessary pollution. If they cared about the environment at all they would shut down operations.

Fiji is a marketing company plain and simple, and saying they are greener than other companies is about as true as saying their water is better. Their marketing is better, the water is EXACTLY the same.

Re: Dennis Miller Gives Harry Reid The Smackdown Of A Lifetime

Does Dennis Miller really think that an acceptable percentage of people living in states like Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, the Carolinas and Texas have any idea what he is talking about?

Then why is he on Fox News?
