Ah hold on there my brother. The fallacy with the prosperity movement is it is all Old Testament theology. OT basically says "he who has the most material possessions has God's favor." When Jesus came into the world, He reversed all that. This is why Christ reminded us that the son of man had no place to lay his head (not a mansion with a 2 year mortgage.) Prosperity preaching is basic business 101 - find a niche and fill it. For the African-American ministers you mention, it is no secret the 2 biggest hot buttons in the black community are poverty and single-parent households. So, you build your church around promises to rub the lamp and make 3 wishes and the genie will pop out and give you a husband and a Benz. "All you gotta do is 'sew a seed of faith' of $25 right now and you'll get a husband."

Guess these guys forgot Jesus ran the money-changers out of the temple for turning it into a den of thieves.

Not sure how I missed this post, but let me raise my hand - present and accounted for!
Totally related to the 'only one in the room' sentiments above. What concerns me
more is not seeing any Web 2.0/social media/customer generated media "gurus" featured
on the conference/meet up scene. Lynn you are the first I think I've run across.

Esteban: I hear you. I have had the same thing happen to me. It seems to take a long while for technorati to 'spider' out your posts for some reason. I'd recommend checking their blog too to see if there are any publishing problems on their side. --K

Ah now you are speaking my language Esteban! am on my 2nd Z3....which will become a classic one day I think. The Z8 is soooooooooo beautiful. Just nothing like the speed and engine rumble of a BMW!!! Great history and review.

Mark/Esteban...a good example of this is BMW. If you have ever owned one or are familiar, the maintenance records on each vehicle are available at any dealership in the country. If you are the first or fifth owner, doesn't matter, you can quite easily place a call to any service dept and they can tell you exactly what's been done and when. (For BMers this is critical if you don't want to spend a bundle in the service dept. down the road.) With the privacy laws changing, my last one all I was able to get was service codes, and an interpretation verbally from the service advisor, where in the past I'd have gotten copies of the actual invoices. Still it is a great comfort to know exactly what you are getting ahead of time.
