in ShoZu: Adobe's Designated Hitter Needs Batting Practice - mediabistro.com: MobileAppsToday on mediabistro.com: MobileAppsToday
Hi there,

Thanks for checking out ShoZu, but sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. We totally agree that our sign-up procedure on certain phones could be a little less confusing, and we are working on that as we speak. ShoZu has traditionally been used by the techy early adopter crowd, but as we move into more mainstream partnerships like Adobe we are setting about making everything a lot more consumer friendly :-) ShoZu is also pre-loaded on many millions of phones out-of-the-box, and Apples iTunes store certainly makes life easier too.

In regards to the connection issues you had, I've checked back on the date you posted this review and we did indeed have an extended maintenance window so I have to apologize for that, it is also why our website was extremely slow. We haven't officially launched our Adobe service just yet so there are many upgrades underway before we announce the official integration, stay tuned and hope to see you back soon!

Any other questions, feel free to get in touch.

Best,
Mark

in Losing A Phone - A Social Media Security Breach? on A VC
hehe we have separate teams who look after email support and to the ones who look after blogs, and we both saw this one about the same time :-) Thought you and your readers might appreciate an answer on your blog rather than email in case others have the same question.

ShoZu will now be completely deactivated and if anybody tries to do an upload it will just throw an error and tell them it's not activated. Any feeds and sites on ShoZu's home screen will also vanish.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Jambo

in Losing A Phone - A Social Media Security Breach? on A VC
Hey there Fred,

Sorry to hear that you lost your phone, but alas, here at ShoZu we have definitely thought of everything including a way to remotely deactivate your phone :-)

Just log in to www.shozu.com on your computer, click the "My account" tab at the top, then "Application setup", then "Deactivate ShoZu on my phone"

ShoZu on your phone does not connect directly with your Facebook, Flickr, blog, etc, it goes through our server in the middle first which is what makes all of its functionality possible. So the good thing about all this is that you can step in here in the middle and totally deactivate it as well. You can then use your old account on any other phone you decide to install ShoZu onto, and all of your old settings will sync up with that device.

Hope you manage to recover the phone but I fear it might have become a permanent part of the Paris tarmac by now!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best,
Jambo

fredwilson It's interesting that I sent an email to shozu support yesterday about 10
minutes after I realized that I had lost the phone and got back a
acknowledgement but nothing else since. But my support question was answered
by a Shozu representative on my own blog! I am not sure if that's good news
or bad news, but its interesting nonetheless.

fredwilson And thanks Mark

I just de-activated my account. Making it a lot less likely that someone
will be posting to this blog from my lost N95

in Comparison: Who Wins In The Nokia N78 vs Nokia N82 Battle? on The Nokia Blog
nice comparo :-) i have to say after playing around with the n78 i still prefer the n82. it's all about that flash and camera for me since i use it as my main camera these days. it's always disappointing heading back home to the US from europe and losing the rocketship data speeds, but i'm happy enough to wait for wifi if i really need it. also dont need the mp3 transmitter, so n82 is still my favorite and the nokia phone i recommend the most to our pro customers at ShoZu

in How To: Upload Your Videos and Photos To Multiple Sites From Your Nokia Cameraphone on The Nokia Blog
Hey Mark
Thanks for the awesome review of ShoZu and our CC feature! Good to see you highlighting some features that many people may not know about. We're busy adding Flickr video too, but the email workaround you have pointed out works just great in the meantime.

Stay tuned for a ton of new partner/upload sites coming real soon...

Happy snapping!

in Comparing N95 to iPhone on Scobleizer
Hi there,
Interesting discussion on this blog as always. I'd just like to jump in and add a few things about ShoZu. We've actually released an updated version 3.20.51 for s60v3 (ie. the N95) a couple of weeks ago which you can download from our site and addresses a few of the memory concerns with this phone. All ShoZu 3.20 versions use a new replication engine so we've also upped the limit to 10MB file sizes and are hoping to increase this again in future, dependent on phone memory constraints and some intense testing.

We're also big fans of the iPhone and will be announcing a service soon for iPhone users to simplify the file sharing experience.

in YouTubing from the N95 on Scobleizer
Hi there
Thanks for your comments on ShoZu. I'd just like to respond to the question on battery life as we've seen it come up in other blogs before. There's a great post on our forum from our Client Architect which I hope sheds a bit more light on this:
http://forum.shozu.com/showthread.php?tid=545

We are working on an official version for the N95 which addresses a couple of issues and will also wake the GPS in the background automatically so you can tag your pics. The problem with the N95 is that the GPS antenna takes quite a long time to get signal lock so we are working around that (in the meantime you can simply have the Nokia Maps or Sportstracker app running in the background and we'll detect your coordinates).

Hope this helps and happy to see you having fun with our app!

Best,

Mark
