Great video---all the elements, story, the voice, the visual look, really come together to create a sympathetic story I connected with.

This is a great example of how to bring awareness to an issue.

Now that I've seen this video, I would love to see a video that addresses what we can do to improve the situation for people who fall into homelessness.

Yeah. Lately, I find myself getting more and more into technique and production values. I think, ultimately, I like people like the cartoonist Robert Crumb who is technically amazing, but also very loose and expressive. Mmmm. Of course, he's also kind of a nut case.

I love the idea of live mobile video, not just for news, also for seeing your friends' face while talking to them via phone. For news, everyday people who can be deputized to pipe their live footage to big outlets when they happen to be on the scene at newsworthy events. Still waiting for my wireless brain implant though.

I think that O'Reilly ran into trouble with his proposal for several reasons.

1) Lot's of people have preexisting beefs with him for a myriad of reasons
2) The badge he proposed (a sheriff's badge) rubbed some people the wrong way---seemed very heavy handed.
3)People didn't see his proposal as discussion guidelines for his particular blog, they saw it as an attempt to regulate speech across the blogosphere.

Live video can be amazing. Doing it over the web is still pretty clunky, but it's going to get better. Live is great if it's a newsworthy event unfolding in real time and/or it allows for interactivity. I had a blast hosting a live web video talk show where interviewees could be present via their webcams. The production values we were able to get doing it over the web sucked, but the interactivity with our audience and our guests was gold. I'm excited momentum is building for live web and mobile video.

I'm with you a million percent. In order to provide value, a "show about nothing" has to actually be about something---like entertaining the heck out of people a-la Seinfeld.

One of the things that excites me is the idea that people can provide value to small circles of friends with minimal effort, just like sharing snapshots. That's nano media, baby.

Egypt is a tough teacher indeed. I haven't been in a camera pool with Egyptians, but I found just walking down the street in Cairo to be a challenge.

Every organization is a media organization---whether their media are just newsletters on paper, or a full blown electronic media barrage. How are all organizations going to understand they need to listen? Fun and challenging watching this unfold. Have a blast at Von. Sorry I couldn't stick around for it.
