in New To Affiliate Marketing? So Are We on John Cow dot COM
New to affiliate marketing here too. I understand much of the basics, but to me, it still is much harder than a lot of people make it out to be. I knew that when I started, but I guess I didn't want to believe it. I mean, with everyone flashing 6 figure checks in your face and making it seem to easy, I thought I'd be able to quit my day job in a few days (kidding).

I signed up at CPAEmpire and Azoogle and have been promoting some offers though Yahoo's PPC network (heard it was the easiest to understand for beginners so I started there). Plus I had a $100 in free clicks from them (email me if you want the link). Anyway, I've tried a couple offers, seen a ton of impression, a few clicks, but no sales/leads. So...I'll have to do some more reading/asking around to see exactly what I'm doing wrong. Maybe it's the wrong keywords? To low of a big price? I don't know. I've only been doing it a couple weeks and I've not devoted as much time as I would like, so we'll see what happens.

Keep us posted on your progress. I'd love to learn all I can.

in 5 Reasons it Sucks to be a Web Developer on Get A New Browser
Very interesting article. Know it all and clients suck were on point.

It's funny how web developers are suppose to know how to do everything. You see job openings and they are looking to high someone with experience with 50 different technologies, it's crazy.

Yes, clients suck. That's why I don't deal with them much anymore. I take on some work every now and then, but I enjoy developing my own ideas and trying to monetize them.

in How Long Before Your Blog Will Start Making Money? on John Cow dot COM
Very true, it takes a while and a lot of people don't have the drive to stick with it.

I had pretty realistic expectations going into blogging in knowing that I wouldn't make anything the first month or even in the first year for that matter. I would like to generate some income eventually but I'm just trying to focus on building traffic right now. I've not even tried to monetize it yet. I'm not real sure where to start to be honest with monetization. I'd like to make a little extra, but I don't want to alienate readers either by having ads on the site.

in CSS Off – Judge on Get A New Browser
Sounds like a very interesting opportunity for you. I had an opportunity to judge a high school web design contest a while back and it was interesting to see what all the younger generation could come up with. A few in the class were really good, and the others just seemed like they didn't care much. lol
