I like to know what's going on and make sure everything goes well. However, I've found that my best days as a parent are the days where I let go of the reins and let my son take charge. For me, it's about trust...and don't we all want our kids to grow up knowing what trust is?

Re: drew olanoff dot com. - Why I go By Drew

Well, the name on my birth certificate is "Sandra," but I've never been called that. My parents called me Sandy from birth. I changed it to Sandie in 2nd grade to be different. I just can't bear being the same as everyone else.

When we named our son, we thought hard about what he'd be called vs what he was named. We ended up calling him Duncan Scott. Partly because it's a very Scottish name and we're really into that, but also because there aren't a lot of ways to shorten Duncan. It's a unique name without being hard to pronounce (Josiah!) or spell (Sandie). Plus, if he doesn't like it, he can use Scott...or DS, I suppose, but that just doesn't sound right to me. So far, he's living up to the name, although he doesn't have an obsession with donuts or a claymore with which to strike off the heads of fellow immortals.

Re: Superheroes, I Like Them

I squeeled out loud at the end of the Hulk when that guy appeared on the screen (you know who, but I am afraid to say beacuse I might spoil it for someone else). I am sooooo excited! YAY! My to-do list is full of generic tasks like laundry, yardwork, and "fix website." I have the same problem...I bypass them because they're too big. Breaking each task into smaller items is great because you get to cross more things off your list. I love crossing things off. :)

Re: Facebook - Word Games by zynga

These are a huge time suck for me. I love word games, crosswords, sudoku, etc. I had to take them off my Facebook profile because they were sucking up hours and hours of my time...but I still love them...

Re: Late Nights Still Win

Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you. I use Remember the Milk to keep track of tasks and Google Calendar to keep track of events. I'm a big fan of the stuff Google offers to keep me up to date and in touch. I've posted about my love for all things Google and Remember the Milk.

Re: Alltop- Encouraging the Mainstream

Wow!
