ah well even if England goes through they'll get knocked out the next stage. It's funny how England can have one of the most exciting league and yet they can't achieve anything on international level.

btw, I think the whole team was playing bad (except for becks maybe) I was watching the game during the second half,was it just me or did you notice England kept attacking from the left side (the Joe Cole side) instead of the right side (becks)..I mean..whyyy..whyyy ??? .. you have peter crouch up front..why the **** would you go from the left??

And the lesson that the English team ALWAYS fail to learn..don't sit back when you only have 1 goal cushion..it happened llots of time.

oya and the pitch look horrible..look like some1's backyard with all the muds and dirts

The red card on cavarllho was correct. Not only is he the last man, he also went two footed studs up, easy decision.

Red card on Ashley Cole is controversial. What I saw is he headed the ball to his arm, maybe not worth a red card, but certainly a penalty.

The red card on zat knight is stupid. If they were not reduced to 10 men, Aston Villa would have been going home with 3 points. Without Drogba, lampard, terry, cavarllho, A Cole.. Chelsea will be struggling to beat mid table teams.

Btw Joe Cole dived for that Ballack free kick, see the replay, he slipped and fall flat on his face. what a joke.

Good football by Aston Villa. Good penalty by barry under pressure.

A good match for Man U, nothing better than a win over a great rival like arsenal before the champions league game.

I don't think Eboue did it on purpose but it was a very clumsy challenge.. he flew in with studs up, and at that height he could just give some1 a good flying kick in the face.

Nani's showboating was good when you first see it, but maybe it was not necessary I think, considering the nasty tackles and challenges he got after that.

Rooney was good..nice positioning, running in between defenders as a lone striker..just needs to work on his finishing.

Good work in locking down the Arsenal midfielders, which I think was the main reason we control the flow of the game.

This just shows how good Man U can be if players like Carrick, Fletcher and Nani, who tend to underperform, are at the top of their game. :d

good result i guess.. If Rooney had scored first from that through ball, MU will probably be better off. He needs to work on his finishing. However, there's still no denying that Rooney is a great talent, a great presence on the field.

Lyon plays well at home. I'm not denying Benzema's skills or anything, but the Lyon's goal is quite lucky i guess, all 4 defenders in like 1 meter around him and the ball just nicely slots in between them, straight at the inner post and into the net.

Nani is starting to look very interesting. His crossing are quite accurate, two consistent performances in a row..not too bad.On the other hand, Carrick is throwing the ball around aimlessly around the field. Scholes is still top notch, but for Giggs, age is really starting to catch up with him, he'll probably retire next year.

For the english teams, I'm saying Man U 2 Lyon 1.
Arsenal will have a very very hard time at the San Siro I say AC Milan 2 Arsenal 0.
Liverpool and Inter might be a very close match, I have a feeling Inter can make a comeback .
Chelsea will win the round at Stamford Bridge.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to see the English teams go through. :d

btw, Benzema should move on to a better team. He won't win cups with Lyon (except the french cups) and he'll hardly be recognised. He should go to Man U, arsenal, Chelsea (minus Drogba next season). or ac milan, those teams are in need of a good striker... I don't know about Real.. I have this impression that players that come to Real doesn't shine anymore..might be wrong (Robinho.. i know) :d

Well, the FA will at worst extend his ban to 5 matches and give him some fines..

btw, I was reading Avram Grant's ranting on the net, very bitter fellow, he can't see any positive out of the game. He was saying that the referee should question the linesman decision ?? since when ?? we might as well question every offside decision they make or even better, just don't use any linesmen haha anyway, it was a handball for pete's sake, Wayne nudged the ball in front of him using his arm, maybe it was reflex but it sure is handball. and don't give that "we dominated the game and they have that one chance and strike" excuse, spurs stayed calm under pressure, took their time and strike where it hurts.. and credits to them for doing so. That was a funny goal by woodgate lol he was like :-?? goal !! :d

OHHH Berbatov !! so close !! ... but he did put it on target at least.

I have no idea why Avram Grant sub Joe Cole when it's 3-4 , with less than 10 minutes to go and Spurs putting everyone forward. Chelsea could have caught them on the counter with Joe Cole's speed and agility, and finished off the game.

Great goal by Keane and it should have been a red card for Ashley Cole.

Torres is one of the few Liverpool players I admire. I do think that at times Torres and Gerrard are carrying the Liverpool team, but they are not robots, which means Rafa can't play them every single game.. That's probably why Liverpool is only going for 1 cup this season.

I can't wait for Gary Neville to come back..Brown's performance is really fluctuating, maybe ManU should get a young right back when the transfer market reopens. I think ManU really misses Vidic...he'll be back next game for Barca I think.

Ronaldo's superb, but if only he'll chase the ball more, especially when it comes to defending.

It's very amusing how all the 4-5 Arsenal players forming the wall got bluffed into thinking that Ronaldo was going to take that freekick lol.

For Arsenal, I really admire Hleb.. He can control the ball real well..good speed and pace from Walcott..but Song looked a bit confused lol.

Messi is good...but does he have 38 goals this season ??? I dont think so...He can sure run with the ball, dribble past defenders...but then can he score ??? I doubt so. Moreover, ANY footballer knows that you can't just dribble the ball to score goals, can you ??? So let me repeat myself, Messi is GOOD, but judging from the performance at Nou Camp and OT, he still need to work real hard to refine his finishing skills.

AND BTW I am not a fan of MU just because of Ronaldo, so I dont really care if messi was better than him on that match or if he looked like a clown or whatever..I was a fan even before he came to MU.. and I don't think Ronaldo can manage to score 38 goals without the help of his teammates.

lol you guys are sooo funny...It's football ffs, that's why you can't predict it and that's why luck is a factor as well. BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO is tighten your defense, sharpen your offense and play with discipline and passion, dont go around slapping players for no reason, dont keep shouting at the referee when he said "no"..... If you don't believe me on these, try to step out of your small dark room and play football ffs.

For Chelsea, well... those things happens. stupid slap by drogba, this was probably his last match. I have a lot of respect for John Terry and feel bad for him. And from what I read recently, Anelka is going to be veryyyy annoying for you Chelsea fans..lol

However, grats to United ! lady luck surely played a part, nonetheless, Champion of England, Champion of Europe...now for world domination..lol and I think we should sell Ronaldo when he's 28-29 and put an exorbitant amount of price tag on him.. I bet those spanish clubs will still go for him lol.. and with that money we can build ANOTHER set of champions.

NOTE: I think both teams deserve it, if you can split the cup in two I think everyone will be glad to. BUT this is a competition, there's bound to be a loser and a winner... be wise Chelsea, try next year.:d

lol free headers from set pieces, bad marking against a German front line with Klose, Podolski, Ballack and Sweinsteiger all ready to pounce, the goals are mostly gifted, the Portugist back line just stopped and let Klose and Ballack head home.. not the type of team that should even have gone through the group stage.

Maybe Ronaldo now realise that he didn't score all the goals and win the medals because of his own ability.. if you're the best player in a crappy team (like this one), don't expect any medals buddy. I'm sorry but Portugal was just crap that day, you can have all the offensive power in the football world, but if you can't defend.. that's what happened here with portugal..

Reminds me of the spanish league teams, good offensive line bad defense lol. :d

oh btw I've said this WAY before, Ronaldo is not the type of player to go back to defend or chase the ball (like Rooney the pitbull). If you notice at every game EVERY game, if he loses the ball he'll just skip around and wait for his teamates to get it. No doubt he's very scary when it comes down to counterattacking, but cmon ! defend big boy, I can't remember seeing him making a tackle on opposing players running towards the goal. For me the team should attack and defend as a team.

wow...scary lol.. Guus Hiddink is a real master.. real nice work here with the Russian team. Might be a mistake by Van Basten to take boulharouz (spelling?) but ye it was a decision he made.

That was amazing stuff by Kolodin (yes i know the red card) he whacked the ball 30-40 yards out and it had power and just a tiny inaccuracy..

If it's not for Van Der Sar, probably the dutch will be like 3-0 4-0 down ? .. simply superb display from the Russians =d>

well... it IS Czech Republic and not some team that you could easily put 5 pass and you should remember that England are not that great, so don't expect them to win every match now that Capello is in. I'll give some credits to Capello, England looks more like a team. I reckon play Gerrard and Cole behind Rooney. Defoe looks good too, just need more shooting power.
AND I don't know if you noticed, but Capello didn't play to win, he subbed Gerrard and Rooney, two players which were influential in the first half.

wow wth happened ? and i'm not even an Arsenal fan.. defensive line looked so messed up.

Van Persie likes playing with fire.. to me, the throw is part of the kick, but I can see the other point of view where the ball is out of the keeper's hands, which means that you are free to nip it... but I still say no, and if he nipped the feet of the keeper, he's gone.. anyway, it would have been a cheap goal and is not the Arsenal way i guess lol.

err.. do you watch football buddy ? A good ref will see that there's no intention in that, in fact Neville turned away in mid air to avoid it and was unlucky as the ball sneked right under his pit and hit his arm.

The same case as in what happens if someone kicks the ball right into your face in the penalty box ? are you not allowed to use your hand ? Or should you just receive the consequence of having a concusion ? Then any opposition will be smart enough to go to the penalty box, just blast the ball randomly, hopefully a player will protect some part of their body (vital ones especially) with their hands and appeal for a handball.. This is surely not very hard to understand right ?

These things happen everytime in almost every professional football match and a good ref will surely understand the concept well.
