While I do like the other suggestions, especially the Dr Who or Hawkeye ones, I've got to go with Dr Stephen Franklin from Babylon 5.

in Boiling Point: Stick to your Time Table on Film School Rejects
Totally agree. I mean my older DVRs are set to record and extra 10-30 minutes on some shows just in case because I've been burned by this before. Unfortunately when I get DVRs from some providers it is harder to do than on my old ReplayTV, but still usually possible.
Unless they change up the schedule completely. Then I'm screwed anyways, since the guide is usually not up-to-date with those decisions.

RobertFure My problem is that my DVR can only record 2 shows at once. So if I tell it to record from 9-10:05 on one channel and 10:00-11 on 2 other channels, it cancels a recording to get that extra 5 minutes. On the one or two days a week I like to watch more than 2 or 3 shows, it is impossible for me to record everything if something goes long.

I have to agree with this one as well. Buckaroo Banzai needs a sequel.

A lot of good superhero films here, almost all of which I agree. I have to agree with Mystery Men, though.

in Pioneer To Finally Stop Making LaserDisc Players For Good on /Film
I still have my player, as it was also my original DVD player. I had around 20 LDs at the time DVDs starting getting popular, so I upgraded my old player to the Pioneer DVL-919 so I could play both. Before then I had only access to playing DVDs via a DVD-ROM drive I bought on auction for my PC.

It lasted me for years until it started having problems reading some DVDs and I chose not to fix it. Both it and my crate of Laserdisc titles are in storage in my basement right now, probably because I just was too lazy to sell them off when they were actually worth something, like I did with my original LD player.

He was great as Andy from The 40-Year Old Virgin, although I really liked it when he played "Steven" arguing with that Stephen Colbert on The Daily Show's Even Stepvhen segment.

I have to agree with 2001: A Space Odyssey. I mean it basically helped propel Science Fiction into a new era, with intelligent, thoughtful productions that could be heavy on plot and message and still be entertaining.

Gotta agree with Rita A on The Andromeda Strain. At least the original movie. The miniseries just missed the point of the original story, I think.

Mandarin seems the logical choice based on the first movie.
Of course you could also go with Jack Daniels or Seagram's 7, but that might end a whole lot less dynamically.

Still gotta go with the first appearence of Mr Hanky. That was scary in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, yet good.
