You know, I didn't even realise that WAS Bill Clinton until I read the whole article and then took a second look. Nice pic!

That cake does look good. And I actually LOVE fondant cake! But hey, I love icing too, with or without cake!

I love that phrase "destructively pooing puppy". Really quite stunning!

in Stop Dane Cook: A Campaign to Protect Our Children on Film School Rejects
I have been asked whether Dane Cook is as deadly as AIDS, or as dangerous as breast cancer, or as emotionally crippling as autism. That I cannot answer. Let history be the judge.

As emotionally crippling as Autism? EXPLETIVE DELETED you. I am Autistic, and I cannot believe you compared someone who's comedy you don't like, to Autism which affects people profoundly. I liked Employee Of The Month and I like his stand up. Just because YOU don't like him, don't assume you can make idiotic comments like is a comedian as deadly as AIDS or Cancer. Think before you type.

in Michael Bay talks Transformers 3, 4 and 5 on /Film
I personally disliked the film because:

1: No transforming noises (nee-neh-nah-naw)
2: Pretty sure Optimus was WAY bigger than the other Autobots, definetly was as a toy
3: I couldn't understand their damned voices apart from Optimus's
4: I couldn't see who was fighting who clearly
5: Since when did Transformers fist fight?
6: Where was the "Transformers, robots in disguise!" theme song?

Bah. No more sequels thanks.

lee perhaps if u follow into number two he has supersize gaining power. let the story flow in the hands of michael bay and spielberg, they awesome directors and for you think you made ur judgement too early.
CCL8104 Respone:
Number 1: You sometimes can hear them, but that's no reason to dislike the movie.
Number 2: They made Optimus the most powerfull by far, so why should that matter?
Number 3: Get your hearing checked.
Number 4:I could
Number 5: It made it interesting, get over it.
Number 6: That theme song is retarded, this is the American made film, not the animation, its rated PG-13. We dont want that gay song.

in YouTube Users Get Paid. Tomorrow. on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Couldn't they create a title filter? If you can't find the copyrighted material, there is little point uploading it. Thus getting around the problem of paying people for uploading copyrighted content.

I don't think YouTube's content is poor, I spend a lot of time on there, and there are people with really interesting opinions (Blunty3000 for example).

I do think, however, that this is a getaround for YouTube. Now they can say "We pay our content producers" when actually, they're only going to pay those that get the most views, not everyone.

Done properly, this could have been amazing. Instead, it's just a cop out.

I love the idea of NearbyNow. Comparison engines are all well and good, but the amount of times I have looked for something, and found the best price was in a bricks and mortar shop...200 miles away!

Yeah, I don't really get this either. If I need to create a live bookmark (only when I am not at my PC), then I use Yahoo My Web. Apart from that, I don't get it.

Steve Well, if you don't get it, why not try it ? Do you expect to just figure it out some day waking up ?
May be there is more to it than just a "live bookmark". How would you know...
It's a bit like saying "In japan, kids learn how to speak japanese. I don't get it. If I need to talk, I just use english !"

Haha...nice april fool. This said...if anyone could develop a way to send someone to poke one of your friends, I could see potential in that. The number of times my long distance girlfriend is ignoring me for the tv...

Love the idea of being able to set up a webcam on your site! That's just very very cool. Also has much potential for other startups, as you mentioned.

I think that this will succeed too. Look at how XNA from Microsoft has driven people to want to create (albeit) basic Xbox games. Now combining social networking and game creation cannot be a bad thing!

I have to say, I really don't like the design of this site. Especially the updates at the top.

I realise that a gaming social network is niche, and niche is good, but i'm not so certain this is going to work.

This is a stunning idea that really needs to take off. The applications for it, in my view go beyond "mobile youtube". Surely this would be an excellent platform for mobile blogging. And surely smartphones are the ideal way to blog on the go. See something cool, take a photo, upload it to your blog.

This is really childish. You'd expect this sort of argument in a playground, not between countries!

I think Free The Fan and Zannel have big potential personally. Sports is big in Europe, as are camera phones. Think about it. In Europe people swap videos from their phones using Bluetooth, now they can use the net instead. Far better distribution model.

The Internet is not just US specific, and should be kept in mind when discussing social media, IMHO.

This site does sound pretty interesting, although I'd have to agree with Mr Cashmore that it's not really ready for the mainstream. You need something that automatically collects all your media from social media sites.

Very interesting news. The only thing that troubles me is that the BBC are supporting this with advertising. Us in the UK pay our license fee to pay for the BBC, and they are using YouTube, a supposedly free medium, to get advertising revenue - something they're not allowed to do on TV...

The movie industry are just going to have to learn, like the TV industry already has, that people do not want to watch things at x o'clock. They want to watch stuff when THEY want.

Sites like YouTube are not going to go away. The sooner the industries involved understand this, the better.
