Some people enjoy making lots of money = work on something with potential to make lots of money. Some people don't want a work / life balance, and get more out of work than life. The key is that passion comes from different sources from different people. I'm as much in the "do what makes you happy" camp as anyone else, but I recognize that different people are fulfilled and happy by different things.
