Painful? At first--but what isn't? "Girly"? Not if you're secure in your reeking-of-testosterone manhood. Awesome? Absolutely. That little freshly-waxed middle part will feel as good and clean and--dare I sayit?--newborn as if a tiny bird had perched on your head and plucked each hair out with its beak. Mmmmmm...elephant fresh (thanks, Homer S.). It's addictive. I probably played and replayed "Knowing Me, Knowing You" (why would a 4-year-old with two happily-married parents be so fascinated by a song about divorce?) so many times that the vinyl became smooth as a baby's bottom (or Agnetha's porcelain skin).

Re: In which Canada is calling…

I'm hardly a local or an expert, but I've been on extended visits to Alberta twice and was very impressed with Edmonton. It's decent-sized but not huge, the people and atmosphere were really friendly, and (this is the part that I thought might be helpful) I stayed on the campus of the University of Alberta both times. Great place with nice facilities, and a few friends have done their undergrad or grad school work there and stayed on long after--so it can't be too terrible. I think this is worth some serious consideration, Matt--if I had the chance to go teach in Canada (especially beautiful BEAUTIFUL western Canada--the Rockies, rolling plains, the Pacific--like all of the good stuff in America but with better beer) for a year or so I think I would take it with little or no hesitation.

Re: No TiVo = unhappy Matt.

Hope it comes for you this afternoon, Matt--once the setup is over, TiVo's the bomb.

Re: I am horribly depressed.

I'm starting to wonder about the whole random winner thing myself--not that I'm complaining (I'll save my complaining for when my TiVo unit doesn't get herevia UPS fast enough). They seem to really be weighting the "humor" category and favoring self-deprecation--it seems like many of the winning essays have the subtext of "I NEED television in my life and TiVo will help me further insulate myself from the real world." Lord knows that was the subtext of mine, anyway. In any case, I say keep trying with various aliases until you win.

And I thought the nightly call was a toll-free deal--am I wrong?

Max a.k.a. Titta på de två som sägs vara världens just nu två bästa spelare, Leo Messi och fejk-ronaldo, de leverar inte heller i landslaget. Bogut is improving every year, and along with his 10 rebounds per game, he gives 14.4 ppg, 51.1 FG%, almost 3 assists, and almost 2 blocks and 1 steal. His glaring weakness is FT% at 58.7, but you don't draft bigs for that. I'm not hesitating to take Bogut ahead of anyone in your tier 5 of centers, and a lot of your tier 4 guys also.

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » Maxell Releases Holographic Storage Medium

It's not 120mbits it's 120 mbytes/s

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » A Geek’s Memories

I remember when a 2 5.25 drives is all you needed.
I remember when 300 baud was cool.
I remember creating animated ansi art.
I remember when Prodigy stole my files.
I remember when a 1GB HD took up 2 5.25 bays and cost $3k.
I remember when Max Headroom made fun of reality TV before there was reality TV.

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » A Geek’s Memories

Oh and I remember the turbo button!

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » PhotoFast Memory Card Adapters Will Boost PSP Storage Capacity To 32GB

it seems to attach via usb

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » The Games We Played - Law Of The West (C64)

I remember playing that

Re: GOP Operative Charged with Tax Crimes

What a fine bunch of guys I wonder Orr is the same guy I met about 16 or 17 years ago when he was "borrowing" office space at Bob Woodruff's accounting offices. Woodruff went on to become the Treasuror for Qwest in their high flying days. Wouldn't suprise me, he was a pretty shady guy then. Somebody with any integrity would have spotted him a mile away.

Re: Ken Gordon Reaches Boiling Point

It's about time, but what's he going to do? I got that e-mail this morning also and it provoked a very different response in me. If he doesn't have about 3 million people on his mailing list it doesn't matter.

He is running a campaign that is so low key it is almost non-existant. Why hasn't he been all over this from the beginning? He is running for the most important post to preserve our democracy and, I believe, he's handing it right over to the Repubs.

Re: Bachmann’s Mean Streak

Bachmann I think this was certainly relevant to the story of the nomination. I see it as a way act like a complete asshole, and not feel regret or guilt for doing so.
Dr. Blanton doesn't really advocate absolute honesty. That much was obvious when he recommended that the journalist tell the waiter that 'the coffee tastes like shit'. What he really means is being able to say what you want without giving a shit what anyone else thinks; being an asshole.

However; with that said, the fact that he is attempting to back it up with scientific and/or spiritual beliefs truly gives this ideology its weight. Not because the scientific/spiritual bullshit actually means anything, but because when you act like an asshole (which can be appropriate at times, especially in the context of pickup) and feel bad for acting like one, you can say "oh well, I'm only acting like an asshole because a guy with a PhD says its healthy". The poor kids of this family (shirley phelps has at least 10 children) are subjected to one of the most insidious forms of child abuse there is...they should be thrown in jail for it I think...

I wish in my lifetime that everyone in this country could miraculously realize that the bible is a completely morally bankrupt piece of mythical filth. As I posted last night he needs Global Bargain ploy to work because...

"From the BBC: speaking at a joint press conference in Milan with Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi, Mr Brown defended Britain's levels of debt claiming it was one of the lowest of the major economies. "That is substantially lower than Germany, and France and America and Japan and Italy. So I can just say to you while every country is having to borrow to invest in the future, our national debt remains substantially lower than is the case in many other countries," he said.

And how does the Global Bargain work?

Mcbroon said "I believe that if each continent can work together to inject resources into their economies, all of these economies would be as severely fooked as ours and thus I will continue to be able to say what I said before".

Which was?

"That Britain's levels of debt is one of the lowest of the major economies, er...comparatively speaking of course." He continued "It's going to be a tough job but I'm yer man for it. After all remember that these twats also bought those AAA rated synthetic 'asset backed securities' laced with subprime loans that were created in America. So nay problem laddie".

So if the rest of the world's economies buy into the Global Bargain the UK stands a chance of being at worst another basket case amongst basket cases (and statistically maybe better than the next crock say) so everything is ok and McBroon remains the hero. But, crucially, if anyone does not take up the (poisoned) "challenge" then when it all goes tits up the Mcbroon is vindicated: "it wasnae me it was (insert country name) what did it".

It is all just positioning to try and survive politically; the underlying numbers or logic are meaningless to the tribal wankers that vote for them or indeed the illiterate/innumerate wankers or indeed the wankers who were 11 years old under the Tories last time round and their dad hated Thatch or indeed the ones they pay to vote for them, or indeed those other ones they just pay...

The Global Bargain needs to remain unstruck; unlike the McBroon.

Re: Hazel’s Honesty

Submariner at 3.10pm; the numbers as presented would result as follows: ZaNuLab 279 seats, Tories 274, Libs 67, Others 12 and Northern Ireland 18. Model is here if you fill in the blanks. Yes it is crap isn't it.

ZaNuLab would be leading but 47 seats short of a majority so McBroon will cling onto office initially for a period to allow him to form coalition or to see if he could limp on and survive say the Queen's Speech, or indeed do a deal (even if not coalition) with another party to allow him to survive longer.

Queen could kill him off apparently but I suspect the country would resemble a war zone by then anyway and he would be bunkered or avoiding gangs of men carrying rope.

A troubling scenario nonetheless.

We should do our duty and precipitate his early demise by supporting this Petition and hoping that ZaNuLab knives will do the rest, rather than allow these morons time to regroup and bribe the bribeable parts of the electorate using YOUR money for their personal ends.

If McMoron gets elected I will be on the first plane out.

Re: Friday Caption Competition

(At 12.03am) For goodness sake someone get them to let go of Red Wedgie's underpants. Now if all of this was not practical because the supervision of the banks was so poor and the debts versus assets so out of kilter that millions of Joe Ordinary's up and down the country would have lost all of their savings and there would be riots on the streets then that is maybe another matter. One surely for the policymakers who had allowed it to happen in the first place. So who was our homegrown architect of that then? Oh, yep, one G McBroon.

Please therefore do not tell us anymore that this buffoon and his government, who dined out for years on how clever they all were, in fact were just passengers in some sort of uncontrollable global rollercoaster. You cannot have it both ways; they were at the steering wheel and if it was not connected they were dishonest with us and if it was connected they were incompetent. Either way they cannot be innocent.

And please forget trying to say the Tories would have been worse or will be worse or whatever. Just maybe, without the "save the world" studenty pinko nonsense to cloud their judgement and a bit more practical experience than a degree in Labour Party History , just maybe they would have discovered the wheel was not connected sooner. All hypothetical bolleaux anyway because the Tories were at the back of the fooking thing with the rest of us as we rammed along at 120mph with McMental upfront who insisted he was in control and that he knew where we were going.

Only he/you had hold of the wheel. That is why the property market is in collapse and McSnot says he wants (a) to support house prices (b) banks to revert to their previous lending and (c) a return to savings and thrift. Markets react to supply and demand (in property that also includes supply/demand for credit) and requires buyers and sellers. If the most a buyer wants to pay or can afford to pay is (for example) £100,000 why manipulate the market so the property is "worth" £130,000 and the government (or developer) then owns a part of "your" house? The reason can only be political (a) to maintain the con that everything is well and you are wealthy and (b) to ensure that more and more of the population is beholden to government so votes for it. Here is an example: Child Benefit Goes On Alcohol. But there are complications around eg actual cost of alcohol and what and where purchased so for example cheapness when eg White Lightning is bought from a supermarket buggers up percentage of household income expended figures etc. Maybe the hospital and associated crime figures actually point to the more truthful picture? Add to that illegal drugs of course, a "family" purchase that the left-leaning pro-government think tanks tend not to have a category for...same impact/effect etc and what money do they think people on benefits use for drugs if not benefit money? Ho hum. Back under the carpet methinks.

Re: +++ Lord Ahmed Get 12 weeks for Dangerous Driving +++

I know the charges differ but any Learned Friends out there care to comment professionally on these cases?

BBC: Ahmed

BBC: Curtis

PS I don't mean send me an invoice, of course...

Re: +++ Lord Ahmed Get 12 weeks for Dangerous Driving +++

I know the charges differ (follow my earlier links) based on "causal link" but how do the respective sentences follow the tariff system for example?

Also read the first paragraphs of the BBC reports (slightly different words/weighting)though both were sending/receiving multiple texts prior to the crash (Ahmed 5, Curtis 21). Same old, same old; either HM Govt too thick to know what they are doing (incompetent) or got "found out" and going through the motions (dishonest). No wonder they are putting on this knees up; agree with others that at £50 a head this is a very unlikely way to raise funds, I suggest this is a reverse funding exercise and the event is actually being subsidised by ZNL at £100 per head so they can all start to kiss and make up. The principle was good, and similar to my earlier point re ZNL and Fred's pension ie the RBS when they presented the rights issue were either incompetent (because they had no idea of what their actual financial position was) or dishonest (because they knew and withheld the truth). Ambrose you are indeed silly; the Tories are not in government and have no forum to "oppose" banking strategy which itself does not evolve in parliament but is private enterprise that, supposedly, was being regulated and supervised by your Dear Leader's tri-partite regulatory structure. Repeat, there was and is no forum for the Tories to be involved in any of this. Your party have been presiding over this for 12 years and with a huge majority. You. No one else. I cannot be bothered to go into the Deregulate Mortgages stuff because you are a slimy party propagandist and I spent 23 years of my life living and breathing financial services and was a qualified (FFS) compliance fooking officer latterly under your mates the FSA. You need to catch up on 23 years of reading before we discuss Redwood again because my attempts at explaining things to you succinctly so far have clearly been fruitless. Go to Redwood's blog and discuss your "points" directly with him, he might have more patience with you. Your party political nonsense might go down well with dopey student activists but some of us on here have actually been adults in this country for too many fooking years to be constantly and successfully conned by ZaNuLab morons. The McBroon has now spake unto his people and he is personally vowing to get the pension back! Nicely put up for a fall or a con and or either way to blame the next bogeyman ("overpaid lawyers/HR consultants/IOD, greedy, greedy, greedy"). Interesting to compare the reporting though, for example...

The BBC reports McBroon as saying: "When banks fail... the people who make the mistakes cannot and should not run off with entitlements and with additional discretionary payments... this is unjustifiable, unacceptable and we are going to clean up the banks so that this doesn't happen again."

Whilst Reuters say he said: "The people who make the mistakes cannot and should not run off with entitlements and with additional discretionary payments that people like me believe they shouldn't have."

The Reuters version leaves open the government to criticism (as per this blog) that ZNL pensions and discretionary payments (a la Fatty Prescott) should also be clamped down on so as not to "reward failure". The BBC version neatly neuters the Great Leader's words so they cannot come back and bite him on his bum.

Prefer Reuters; and doesn't he come across as the petulant one: "people like me dinna like it mister!". Mmm, and? "It was them big boys that did it an' they ran away. It was'nae me, I'll help you look for 'em mister".

Re: Union Boss has Bling Lifestyle

More delicious falling apart of ZNL and their Union friends. Harperson was particularly dotty this morning on the BBC and her comments are the BBC Online lead article and being repeated every hour as BBC's top news story. I am not sure why no one has noticed quite how primed for backfire are the things she is saying, albeit they follow the Prime Mentalist's similarly stupid ramblings re Fred The Shedload in Bristol on Saturday. Is Harperson just repeating and exaggerating the stupid stuff in panic having had her ample arse kicked by the McBroon last week? Or is she clever enough to reward the Dear Leader's kicking by a subtle (some might say feminine) reprisal of her own ie by making the rug under his feet ever more ample she precipitates his fall as the rug is pulled? Hmmm...

In case you missed the loading of the backfire cartridges they included: that Fred "should not count on keeping the money", that "the Prime Minister has said that it is not acceptable and therefore it will not be accepted", that "it is not a pension because he is not retired, it is a severance payment and therefore money for nothing", "it is not going to happen; the PM has said it is not acceptable", "it might be enforceable in a Court of law, this contract, but it is not acceptable in the 'court of public opinion' and that is where this government steps in", and "the PM has been quite emphatic about this and (Fred) is not going to be better off by £650,000 a year".

So, Harriet, if the Prime Mentalist fails to deliver on this one (as anyone with half a brain has already realised he will not unless ZNL manage to knobble Fred), er what next?

Oh and as for the "court of public opinion" being a higher court than the courts of law, well all I can say is fooking fooking fooking delicious. Tall hats and fireworks all round and immediately!

Re: Union Boss has Bling Lifestyle

What is going on? Have ZNL discipline troops forgotten to turn up for work today? Now the BBC Radio 4 lead story, on the hour etc, is John McFall (ZNL, Scottish) chairharperson of the Treasury Committee saying "the government has got to answer whether the (Shed's) deal was in fact contractual or not". That is "the government" as in McFall's own ZNL party. You can sure tell the Dear Leader is away for a few days; who's supposed to be in charge. Don't tell me it's har of the sore bum? I know that the cron output is stored in the servers mail archive, because when I log in, the server tells me I have new mail waiting, and using the mail command I can view the output. One way to do it would be to just pipe the script output to sSMTP as part of the cron job, but would there be any way to have cron not output to the server mail application but rather to sSMTP directly?

Also on an unrelated note, it could substitute for the php mail function thus sending your email securely and depositing a copy of the email in your gmail sent box.

Re: Sign Here, Please!

Individual bloggers have a right to comment anonymously to avoid vicious attacks from snapping turtles like Wilson. Many properties sold by investors do not record the sale prices. Center Township has long been a gold mine for private investors. Property values are adjusted according to the area.

There is a disparity in property values based on the neighborhoods. $350,000.00 sale price for an 1100 sq ft condo, vs $70,000.00 for 2200 sq ft house. Most black homeowners do not reap the kind of equity from their homes as white homeowners do. Best kept secret in the city. Properties are devalued when a majority of the owners are minorities, even in the outlying townships. Compare the property values around Marion County in older and newer neighborhoods. The facts speak for themselves.

Re: Political Musings

Jason
The answer to your question is political patronage and the cost to maintain too many buildings that have nothing to do with poor relief.

Re: Peterson to Hire More Cops?

Folks, Mike O'Connor is over his head in trying to run the County Democrat Party and manage Bart Peterson reelection campaign. Who told these idiots they deserve a pay raise in the midst of this awful property tax crisis? It has become very clear the Democrat officeholders believe there is a bottomless pit to financing their salaries. We have been led to believe the city is bankrupt; services need to be reduced but, the Democrat controlled city-county council members want pay raises.

The 2006 county budget included salaries for 137 police officers with several blank pages. These positions have not been filled to date. Where is the money? Where is the savings from police and fire department consolidations? How much money should be left in the public safety budget?

Presently, the County can not afford to pay our police officers a well deserved pay raise, but the recently elected in 2006 Marion County Auditor, Assessor, Recorder, Clerk deserve a pay raise when they have not provided taxpayers service for one year to date.

The Marion County Surveyor, Coroner, and Treasurer will be seeking reelection in 2008. Their pay raises can be considered in 2008.

Until then, the mayor and ant city-county council should develop a budget which will include raises for police officers. If they can not appropriate enough funding for them, all other pay increases should be on hold.

Re: Policed State in Amsterdam?

"your behavior" thats rich, you ask "why are you pissed off?" and the officer replies, because of "your behavior" , that is a totally ridicules response. The Monforts need to sell this team. I don't buy this "small market" crap. When they had success and butts in the seats they were spending money. Sell the team to someone who wants to win.

2. They need to fire Hurdle and O'Dowd. These two guys are losers. They no nothing but losing baseball, they have a loser attitude, and in any other baseball city they would be long gone.

3. They need to blow up this team. Like Hurdle and O'Dowd, almost every single player on this team has no concept of what winning baseball means. I like Todd Helton, but he has no clue what it takes to be on a winning baseball team. How can a team expect to win when they don't have a clue how to do it. They need to find a mix of veterans who have been on winning teams and infuse that with young talent who don't know anything other than winning.

As of now the Rockies=Losers and that will never change unless these things change. I would rather see this team move to another city or completely dissolve into nothing rather than watch the most pathetic baseball I've ever seen.

Re: New Pepsi Logo Looks Like Obama Campaign Logo

isdәd?

Re: New Pepsi Logo Looks Like Obama Campaign Logo

You got it Jean!

In order to get these things accepted they've got to look good and not create bad press--just building them to build them will only hurt us in the long run, in my humble opinion.

Re: Walk Score: Cool Green Google Map Mashup

this is pretty cool. anyone know of one for biking thats would put you in a larger radius?

Re: Ask the EcoGeek: How Can I Make My Computer Efficient?

I'd also suggest taking a look at operating systems that aren't as machine intensive as Windows. But the areas where their is an endless sprawl that will have it rough. Urban areas surrounded by farms will do well enough unless they experience large amounts of migrants from areas of sprawl.

their are urban areas that are still surrounded by farmland or wilderness. like they have been for hundreds of years. their are exceptions to the rule is what I am getting at. Areas that were developed based upon gasoline or where the agricultural land is now suburbs are basically screwed. Endless sprawl like southern California will have a hard time. And no amount of wheat grass in the smoothie is going to stop it.

But i think the transition will not be smooth. I think north American govt will use the military/police against its own people more often. Because the only thing we can count on is people will do what they think they need to to survive and this will manifest in a lot of different ways.

Re: Google Setting the Bar on Data Center Efficiency

I trust Google as a brand name over any 'green' label product I can buy online.

Re: Forget the Bailout, Here's How to Save Detroit

how much would it cost

Re: Portugal's Pelamis Wave Power Project Dead In the Water

as an ex-employee of Babcock & Brown I can just say we are gutted by this. He's spending taxpayers money and wasting so many peoples time to cover his own butt. The CMS2, as they've been referred to, are decent, honest, hardworking people that have been used by the administration. Where are the Guv's ethics? Where are the ethics of this commission, and who did they get their orders from today? And wouldn't you know it, just about the same time that state employees have to take the ethics test. Have you spent the hour on it yet, Blago? Buying votes by providing federal cash. This IS immaturity, and bespeaks a candidate unfamiliar with American history and politics. Why should they all get to ride for free? If he really cared about "working people" then he would based this free ride on income.

I do understand this helps a lot of seniors who have not saved for retirement. However this is the same mentality of Illinois not taxing retirement income. It isn't based on anything reasonable. So a senior that has a retirement income of $150,000 pays no taxes, while the same senior who has a retirement income of $10,000 has to work part time to make ends meet and pay taxes on that income.

The state loses hundreds of millions a year because of it.

Katie Melua som sjunger en duett med Eva Cassidy låten What a Wonderful World, Christina Aquilera sjunger med fin känsla låten The Voice Within. Och självklart King of Pop Michael Jackson. Helt oplanerat prat blir oftast bäst. Videon när du åt gratäng var cool och söt på samma gång. Fortsätt i samma stil, alltså oplanerade videos.

Re: Wästing time

Du är helt sjuk Erik, bästa i idols historia.
