Totally agree. I found the same things: apparent difficulty to pick up conversations with the same kind of intimacy after long periods apart, and just using quick status updates when I _want_ to be updated on statuses.

Totally agree. Although I found a lot of the banter (which frankly was just long monologues) to be pretty clever, the overall movie didn't strike me as terribly memorable. 40YOV was great -- loved it -- but even with Knocked Up, I didn't find it as good as the old standby series American Pie.
