in Can Useful Apps Succeed on Facebook? on AllFacebook
Facebook is a place where people come to play. Its all about entertainment people. Would you open up a word processing kiosk in a bar with all your friends? Om obviously doesn't understand the platform. Productivity apps probably can have a niche on LinkedIn, but not on Facebook.

in Does Video Twitter Make Sense? on Social Times
The difference between text micro-blogging and video micro-blogging is that text can be scanned easily and processed very fast. That is why Twitter works. Voice and video require playing each one individually. You can't scan ahead and process it quickly.

in This is brand new big shit, but on A VC
I don' think having a centralized place to distribute apps is a bad idea. It works on Facebook. It makes lives easier for developers, and puts everyone on a level playing field. Apps will be judged by reviews in the AppStore, so it won't necessarily be based on the advertising budget of a company with the funds.
I have already built one app on the platform and can't wait for the store to launch.

in Could Facebook Out Open Everyone? on AllFacebook
The future will be a combination of distributed services like OpenID and OAuth, and services like FriendFeed. This won't happen overnight though.
