My eyes hurt. I had to speed lip-read that one. Got some words here and there-- something about work and play? :)

in More Advice for the Shy on Chris Brogan
Nice, post! I can be shy in social situations, but I think it's related to being deaf and sometimes worried about how I will sound or communicate with someone.

in People in the Real World on Chris Brogan
After I introduced a friend to Twitter yesterday, she asked me, what's the point.
The point is the people who are making a difference in the world. Social media helps us make that difference.

in Guest Post Over at Parent Talk Today on Awareness * Connection
Nice response to the topic, Michael. I honestly am not comfortable with the idea of paying kids to learn. One of my close friends tried to do that with her daughter, and even money did not motivate her to do better in school. She's now at a loss as to what to do.

in Whisper me something good — The Broad Brush on The Broad Brush
Todd,
One of the projects that's dear to my heart is fundraising for Hands & Voices. We started a project back in 2007 to try and raise funds online via Bring Light. The project is ongoing and I'm now attempting to try and spread the word to meet our goal of $5,000 before the end of this year so we can close that project. Your help would be appreciated. The link: http://www.bringlight.com/projects/show/75
And what can I do for you, in return, friend?

in Friendfeed Friendlier Blog Posts on The Broad Brush
Oh no, no, no-- do not lead me over to FriendFeed. I can barely keep up with Twitter and Facebook. I'd have to get someone else to raise my kids if I dare add another thing. :)

Karen,
You're a goddess of social networking. Friendfeed is right up your alley.
Would love to see you there, and follow all of your stuff in one place.
Thanks for stopping by.

I've been resisting Friend Feed for a while now, you've almost convinced me to head over there.
I just find it tough to manage it all sometimes. I find that I'd rather cultivate a few deeply than spread myself thin over many.

in Is it your dream life? on Ramana's Musings
Ok, resisting the urge to run over to Google or call my friends, Sarita, Anil, Raja, Poorna or Ramesh...
Here's what I'm taking from this, Ashrama are stages in life to be experienced. One does not know if what we're experiencing is real. Life is both outside of us and within us. One must take all the experiences of every stage and accept them as they unfold, for sorrow and joy are within us and are to be embraced.
Do I still need to run off to Google?

in Social Media Strategy - Aligning Goals and Measurements on Chris Brogan
I'm working on drafting a bill and pushing it through IL--to provide hearing aid coverage by insurance companies. We're using a social media approach to this activism and I realize, while we have the goal, we need to tweak our strategy more to make sure we're reaching everyone we need to in IL.
Off to think about this more.

I'm smiling at the "Clothes and appearance do matter," --even when the shirt is an eight dollar bargain from Walmart?
But heck, you looked good in it at the SOBCon. :)
Chris, you never fail to impress me with the stuff you do. I keep telling myself, if Chris can produce so much, you can too!
