in WHAT do you want to HAVE/FEEL in YOUR life? on The Thinkmaya Blog
I have always wanted to be a super woman - someone who has time for everyone and everything in the world. I want to be happy, in love with life and people in my life, I want close knit families, family like friends, work which satisfies the creative/logical/money-minded me, money enough to live simply and invest some, ample time to be there for myself and my little world. So far this has worked (the super woman part I am still not so sure since I yet have to experience kids ;) ). Except for a few surprises which throw you off the path momentarily. And surprises are good. They highlighted things I had missed putting in my list because I never noticed them - since they were always there.

in The Calm Fire : A journal entry on The Thinkmaya Blog
Maya, sometimes it feels as if you mirror my thoughts and feelings. I can't think of anything to add to what keeps your fire burning. One thing I have noticed - whenever there is a storm within rather than calm, it's just me trying to get my attention. When I give myself some self-love, calm sets in.

in Creating powerful micro-experiences on The Thinkmaya Blog
Maya, this is a beautiful concept. I have already started wondering where and how can I implement this in my day to day life. It also brought back memories of some dreary office days where the only motivation to continue working was for the next tea break when we could catch up with friends and share a few jokes (the micro experiences). Ditto while studying.

in How do I look? And do you need a pee break? on The Thinkmaya Blog
Maya, absolutely loved the new look. I could hardly recognize that it's
Linoluna theme. It's amazing, you have used same theme for GeekDance as
well but both look so different and yet neat.
The story struck a chord. It was funny but so very true. Looking forward to your post on 'how to take a pee break' :)

in The Business Idea: MemeTales: Democratize the creation of children’s books on The Geekdance Blog
Maya, absolutely loved your idea. It's very much in time as well. My niece figures out all kinds of gadgets before I do :) Kids are that fast these days. One question that pops up is that would parents take out time to get their made up story in print? Considering time constraint and hesitation that their story might not be good enough to make the cut.One idea that came up - is it possible to have photos and names customized? For instance, if I buy the story then my name and my niece's name comes up as main characters in the story and faces as well? Would be a great personal touch if this can be done.

in Integrity, Values and Happiness on The Thinkmaya Blog
Hi Maya,
We don't know what would have happened if the story had continued. Probably, once young man's shock wore off, he might be able to see things differently. He was safe, just on a different island. He had no way of knowing what went into her mind.

I am not a story teller - my niece made me one :). Tom seems to be a great coach. Have been hearing positive reviews about him all over the web it seems.

in How To Make Your WorkWeek Work For You Not Against You on Billionaire Woman
Hey ..
Thanks for the link love. It's so much appreciated.
"The single most effective way to reclaim your week is to devote time to yourself early in the morning." - I agree with this so much. A right start in morning can set the mood for entire day.

Thank you Avani for the prompt to drink more water. It's one of those things we often know we should do, but tend to ignore until we're really thirsty. ;)

in Embracing our cultural identities at work and in life can only be good for us on The Thinkmaya Blog
I am an Indian currently residing in US. As you already must be knowing, we have so many different cultures in India itself, it is inevitable to accept and learn to love each of them.
To be a part of a group, or to be friends with people from other cultures, we don't need to become exactly like them. To blend in or fit in I believe means to bond and form relations. And true relationships can only be formed if we are ourselves.
We cannot belong without first being ourselves. That's a balance which everyone has to struggle with I guess.

You got me questioning myself ... how can we align our thoughts, feelings and actions? One answer that popped is by staying true to our values. Looking forward to what you have to say.

Jephthah, you post reminded me that how often we take for granted simple things that life has to offer - things which someone somewhere could be missing.
Your post is inspiring, it encourages the explorer within me to come out and discover new opportunities.

My way of sabotaging is thinking that I have been working too hard and now I deserve to relax / take a break / slow down etc. It totally slows down the momentum built.

That's an awesome one, thanks for pointing it out. I do that sometimes when I decide to take a break, and then I "lose my motivation".

Wow! This is very inspiring. It feels as if you are telling in person to each of us to dream and believe in them.
@Evelyn: I saw Randy Pausch's Last Lecture (Originally titled Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams) some months back. It made me jump out and make a list of my childhood dreams. It made me want to make true each of my dream. It touched and moved me completely. Do watch it. It's a honour by itself.
