Thanks for sharing this Chris!

The consolidation in Social Media is probably not a good thing for innovation but, unavoidable. Someone's got to come up with a viable revenue model that's not dependent on becoming the next You Tube...

in Small Business Tips for a Challenging Economy on TechBurgh
Great article! Managing sales and marketing information online can give your business a much more scalable infrastructure. Managing contacts online let's you share information with your team no matter where they are. Expanding into new markets etc. becomes much simpler for that reason.

Aditya Gholap Good article no doubt. Businesses need to be online. I dont agree with the Mac part of the analysis though. I mean businesses should be using web based tools because they are more scalable, OS agnostic and just work better generally. I personally use a tool called Deskaway to handle workflow processes and maintain a database of my contacts and generate automated reports etc.

in Post from the Comments- Mike Sachleben on Chris Brogan
"Its getting better all the time", as the Beatles said!

Mike is dead on in his assessment of the evolution in the forms of communication.

What's even more powerful is that the means to be the speaker, via text, audio, video, etc. to a targeted audience is so much more accessible.

The average guy is no longer listening, he's speaking!

Well put! Not to being too sarcastic here but, there was a dude running around about 2000 years ago that kind of had the right attitude.

Do things with the other person in mind, not yourself, and you'll end up being the beneficiary...

You forgot to mention SalesNexus.com, an online contact management system that's perfect for current ACT! users, competes well with Salesforce.com feature-wise and is about 40% less expensive.

Salesforce.com is not known for their stellar customer service. They have a pretty high turn over rate amongst web based CRM systems.

in When Google Owns You on Chris Brogan
I guess the tide is turning... Is Google now to be hated the way Microsoft has been in the popular culture.

I'd say the lesson here is you get what you pay for.

If you can't afford to get a real email account, etc., then you probably don't need it very badly.
