in 2008/09/04/google-chrome-growth/ on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Sorry I fail to see what this much noise is really about. The browser is stripped down of pretty much everything, pretty buggy, and the most recent benchmarks show that Firefox 3.x is actually faster. Even IE 8 beta beats it on some tests, and it will have all the "innovations" Google stuck in its Chrome.
To me, Firefox is already just as fine as it needs to be. IE 8 promises huge improvements too. The number of downloads doesn't equal adaption rate - these downloads are the "me too" crowd of users who want to test-drive the thing, not necessary switch to it. After playing with it for 3-4 hours, I am back to Firefox, though I can leave Chrome hanging as a little helping tool for web design, it does have a nice element inspector.
My sites show 0.4% browser share for it in the last 2 days - nothing to write home about. My personal prediction - it will never even reach Firefox share, let alone IE.

in Internal report clears LPD of harassment as Cotnoir battles traffic charges on The Eagle-Tribune
clearly mr. cotnoir has served his country and was awarded for his outstanding duties.
Mr. Cotnoir firing a shotgun at night out your window was wrong and you should have called the police immediately.
Lawrence police probably is bothering Mr. Cotnoir because he has voiced his opinion against lawrence pd and the city for allowing a cocaine ridden nightclub remain open after repeated complaints by lawrence citizens.
Lawrence PD probably get detail money for it's officers and there is a conflict of interest.
Lawrence should shut down that loser nightclub and focus on other areas to patrol and work.
Lawrence pd should avoid mr. cotnoir, chalk it up as a mistake by both parts which has become blown out of proportion.
Both parties should just move on and end this childish conflict between the two.
Lawrence PD, your suppose to have a higher standard of conduct and professionalism and take the higher road. You are supposed to be an example of this and should not focus on trivial matters proving yourselves right. This is clearly a silly matter and should be done with.

So, "citizen observer", you think that the LPD should just look the other way when someone violates the law? You think Cotnoir should be able to do whatever he pleases because he has issues with the PD in the past? What if Mr. Cotnoir gets drunk again and picks up a bat (he no longer has guns, hopefully), you think the PD should just look the other way because they don't want to get involved in the circus that will play out later? I think the PD should keep an eye on Cotnoir even more than the average citizen because he has obviously shown that he is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode considering his backround. He is a true American for what he did overseas but that should not give him a free pass to break the laws and do whatever he wants. I hope he finds a home outside the city so everyone can be happy again.
