I had a bizarre voting experience this morning.

the polling place was hard to find, and it was in what looked like a house nest to delaware ave. there was no sign on the door but a man, surrounded in trash and sitting on the stoop next door told me i was in the right place.
so i walked inside. and i too was the ONLY person there to vote. there were 4 people working and when
i told them my last name, and i had 2 last names on my registration, one lady said "ah, did you get married?" and i said
" it's a long story." and then the four of them start cracking jokes about marriage and divorce and name changes and they are cackling so loudly when i walk into the booth to cast my vote that i can hardly think.
but one hardly needs to think to vote, right?

Ah... yes i have heard of this Google Earth. I hear that once you open Google Earth, Google's satellite starts beaming directly into your brain. Some people have reported becoming totally disconnected from reality once beamed.

Didn't he originally write On the Road on one long scroll-like piece of paper that he could roll up and carry around? Ann Charter's Kerouac biography IS really interesting. I read a copy of it that you lent me, but it was falling apart, and by the time i got halfway through the book it was completely unbound.

I feel the need to defend the speed of my dressing in an emergency. you see, mark was more convinced it was an emergency than I was. I think he may have even imagined someone pounding on our door. I was like "man, why are you running out the door? everything is fine." turns out - everything was fine. silly man.

Ha! I DO remember what happened on the trip when we brought the cat to Indiana. I am pretty sure it involved a cat with digestive problems and a good family friend getting out of the car and threatening to walk the rest of the way to Indiana. LOL i can't believe we brought our cat on a road trip with us! recipe for disaster= 4 kids under the age of 10, the family cat AND an innocent bystander.
