in Canceling TV Shows Must Be Hard in the Microblogging Age on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Not only is this a great way for the network to get a good idea of the strength of their fanbase/viewership, but I'm pretty sure Subway is also happy with the increase in sales. PR stunt maybe?
Rich No PR Stunt fans came out with this campaign. Chucktv.net

We realized that sending useless junk to NBC is not going to do it, so since we are not neilsen viewers how else can we help. Buy the DVD's, buy the epsiodes on Itunes and PS3, Watch on Hulu and support the advertisers that support Chuck. Zach Levi the star led 600 people in a pied piper march into a subway in England. That is just creative marketing by intelligent fans who don't want the station to cancel the best show on their network. It is great to see it going from a grass route campaign to having the cast take part and all the bloggers. It is amazing to see and I am glad I was apart of it.

I like the blue dress, but the sneakers have got to go! I was like what the! when I saw her polka dot see through ensemble, again with sneakers (!), while the guys were classy in tuxes. The girl can sing and sure she is ready to pop out a kid...but why do I have the feeling she'll be landing a promotional spot for Nike or Adidas or something sometime soon?

Looks great on *their* site, but what about those of us who do not have 960 width of space to embed it should we want to use a video in our posts? It still means I have to shrink the size back to what it used to be.

This reminds me of an interview I did with Chris Krewson of the Philadelphia Inquirer. He was talking about how the paper was incorporating social media in order to leveraging both print and digital during this transitionary time.

Dude you are so dead on (and funny!) When I saw her bio section I laughed "and Britney herself!" Give me a break. It just means that either Britney or her marketing/PR team just don't get it.

I 100% agree with you. I've been a beauty blogger for 3 years and over the last two began seeing more and more women basing their beauty purchases based on what "we" are saying. It also means that brands no longer can just say "Here is our miracle product--it works!" because chances are, several beauty bloggers have tried it out and are writing about it online--good or bad.

Creating a product that delivers on its promises is not just an option anymore, but something consumers are demanding with beauty bloggers (and all other niche bloggers) giving their personal review of it.

Thanks for answering Christophe--

So then it is unfair to put iterend into this mix when there are 13 million blogs out there and they only have a quarter million indexed.

I know Google Blog Search has been around for a bit because I have been using it for a while, but I know that like Technorati, you have to submit your URL to add to the search. (At least that's how it was way back when I first started using it.) Since Technorati led the way from the beginning with blogs, that might be where their advantage is. Although I absolutely hate their search when using general terms because it doesn't sort by authority (or even alphabetical order).

Now if only someone could be brilliant enough to create a program where you add your blog and it automatically updates all of these other places that catalogs them.

I live in PA and I am inundated with calls and emails, not to mention my mailbox is overflowing with mailings about the candidates. I can only imagine that it will get worse as the weeks go by and we get closer to Nov. 4th. I think it's sad that any candidate has to spend that kind of money to bash one and the other to have to defend themself rather than say, "This is my plan as President" and be done with it. Then donate all of those millions of dollars to us folks suffering through this ridiculous economic crisis. It's disgusting to spend that kind of money (in either party) when people are struggling to make ends meet.

Do you have to claim your blog or submit it to iterend as you do Technorati and Google?

omgosh that middle pant is definitely Hammer-style. However the one in the upper right hand corner looks very similar to the pair I used to wear back in 8th grade (circa 1988). I was much thinner then...and you know what I look like, so I don't think I could pull it off it I tried. ;)

in PR Agentry Is Broken on AttentionMax
I'm not necessarily a "high profile" blogger, but it is widely known in my niche (beauty) that I have my own blog, write a beauty blog for b5media and then also work for a PR firm (blogger there too). But I do agree with Steve that my inbox fills rather quickly with so many offtopic pitches that is blows my mind. Not to mention "Dear Blogger, You have a great blog! We love reading it!" when, if they did, they would 1-surely know my name, as it's all over my blogs so they should address me as such and 2--if they read my blog, they would know their pitch is a fly ball out in left field.

I used to just delete their emails, sometimes even asking to be taken off their press list, but now I actually take the time to write back and let them know they got it wrong and why. Time consuming, yes, but really I feel it is the only way they'll learn. Even if only 1 person who pitches me comes to a better understanding, then the world is a better place. ;) For the most part they apologize and some have even begun to pitch me better. Although one snidely told me to take myself off CISION if I didn't want to be pitched. She didn't understand--it wasn't about being pitched...it was about being wrongly pitched. She took no responsibility and wanted to place the blame on me. Wrong.

So my longwinded answer is that I agree with you and Steve. If you are just covering your eyes and throwing it out there, it is spam.

Robert, you are dead on. So many of us who have been in blogging for years sometimes lose sight of why we started in the first place as the direction of blogging has gone more mainstream. Thank you for reminding me why I do what I love in the first place and that I need to keep that focus.

in how to dress the arms you hate on style observer
Great post. I am one of those women who hates my arms. They are ugly from Keratosis Pilaris (red bumps) and I am so embarassed by them. I agree about self tanner, that's what I've been doing. But what to do when so many of the styles you love come in shorter sleeves now? I get frustrated and end up resorting to a basic t-shirt because the sleeves are a bit longer.

For your legs--I started wearing those FitFlops 3 weeks ago and I swear it is making a difference in the tone of my legs.

in what’s happening to retail stores? on style observer
I agree. Disorganized and chaotic. It makes it difficult to find what you are looking for and just is unappealing on the eyes.

I have to say, with 4 little mouthes to feed, I have been appreciating the major discounts going on. My kids grow like weeds and keeping up is no inexpensive task, but shopping the sales racks where it seems like the associates could care less about presentation (and customer service), doesn't really make for a fun shopping experience.
