Congratulations Andy. Despite what everyone thinks, editors are not in it for the money or out to get anyone. They do add sites by themselves.

It should be noted that the search for your site will not show any results. This is an ongoing issue.

Now all you have to do is wait for Google Directory to suck you up. :)

Spot on. It's a bit of a let down seeing your not being "Paid" or "Rewarded" for your comment. But at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter.

In this day and age, with akismet and all the other methods of comment spam prevention, is there any real need for nofollow?

Also, you can change the pink to a different colour with the plugin ;)

The price is far too high for a product without a demo IMO. If this tool does what it says it does, fine, I will gladly part with up to $1000 but there is something about the sales page that is hiding something.

Once that issue is resolved, I think they will have a few more customers.

WikiPedia has trust. It's built it up over time. I fully agree with allowing trusted users give trusted nofollow links.

You should also take a look at Andy Beard's comment policy and set it up similar to that. It insures everyone reads it and I was impressed with his creativity. You are going to have the odd one or two abusing it.

Also, maybe you may want to exclude commenters without a URL?

I think this is great. Living outside the US, sometimes there are only certain ways we can watch our favorite TV shows and there is nothing worst than watching a full length episode at youtube quality.

Been playing around a little with the Joost beta and it looks VERY promising. And if this deal goes ahead I think they will have something VERY special.

Previously it was all pretty much guess work. Now we have something to show for our tests.

Google showing the quality score is a HUGE step forward in my opinion and we have improved EVERY SINGLE ONE of our clients accounts because of this.

Now, if only the would share some more information on exactly what is required for a high QS ;)

This one is really crazy:

However, please note that you will not receive payment for conversions that occur for users outside of the U.S. unless explicitly enabled by the advertiser.

And here is the kicker.... wait:
Can I use search engine marketing to promote my referrals campaign?
You may not use search engine marketing to purchase traffic for the specific and sole purpose of generating conversions, unless you have the express permission of the advertiser.

How badly? Not very.

A degree is an essential to working at Google I believe. I cannot imagine how painful it is for those who spent years earning their degrees only to end up sitting there approving AdWords ads all day.

Fair enough, Google has some pretty smart people on board. I think however that they could have a lot more if they didn't base their recruitment process on an algorithm.

We have a dedicated AdWords rep but have used this in the past for our clients. Not once did we get a better performing campaign as a result of the insiders optimization.

It's articles like this that are being published by SiliconRepublic that effect me personally AND locally.

Silicon Republic also offer no feedback, no comment system and much of the content there gets published in our national Sunday newspaper.

The first thing I did when I read that article this morning was check out the audiobook site. Unique title and meta tags and they fail to mention that they have been online for quite some time.

It makes SR look stupid and damages the industry as a whole.

I never filled in my address and never received an email confirmation after "subscribing" however, this morning, I received a copy in the post. That was a fantastic surprise.

Somebody went to the effort of either looking at my business site or looking up my whois to actually send the magazine. I am impressed.

OK, I am just finished reading the magazine and I have to say I am a little disheartened. I have to agree with Richard here.

It looks like EVERY article in the magazine is written by one of the sponsors. Even the product review article is a positive bias review of one of the advertisers advertising on the next page!

It also appears that the magazine is being sent out for free to increase the "circulation" for future advertisers.

Finally, there is no mention in the "Ranking Criteria" on the rankings section that you also need to pay a fee to be considered.

The paper is high quality though.
