"Maybe it isn't Vista's fault / Maybe it's software developers' fault"
If a major car manufacturer one year made every new model get about 5 mi/gal and advertised that it required all gasoline put in it to have an octane rating of 89, but actually was very unstable at anything below 92, is it the petrochemical companies' fault when people's cars start exploding on the highway daily?

Certainly not. But, in the same vein it is Mac os's fault that when I try to install digsby on it it doesn't even recognize the executable.
The problem here isn't that the software doesn't work but that we see the os as an upgrade. At the very least it is microsoft's fault for offering that misperception.

in Tweet Digests Suspended on revjim.net
I don't like them myself, but never complain about others because, really, who gives a shit? It's your LJ/Blog, put what you want there. I'll read it or not read it.

I guess so. But, if even gets tedious for me to scroll past a day's worth of Tweet Digests because I know I've seen them already in my phone. What's sad is that I occasionally get good, awesome comments on my "Yesterday, In brief" posts from people who either don't subscribe to my Tweets or didn't see it the first time around.
I'll figure it all out though. Somehow.

Glad you discovered the truth. I've read/heard all about how when you have a kid, you're not human if everything about you doesn't change, from your taste in music, to the company you keep, to your blood type. So far most, if not all, of my good friends have proved this theory to be bogus, and it works out great for me. It means I still have my friends, still do the stuff we like, and now we have temporarily tiny people doing it with us as well.

Oddly enough, we have several friends that are now with child whose
lives HAVE drastically changed and they are no longer the same people
they once were. It's good to know that we aren't the only ones who can
manage. Not that it's bad for them if they do change. It's just bad
for me because I miss my friends.

I like twitter, or at least the idea. I used it for a couple of weeks, but even now it doesn't work in a way that is convenient for me. I don't like getting SMS or email from twitter whenever anyone updates, but I do like getting IMs. But the IMs are broken on most days.

Agreed. I wish it was more granular. There are some people/things I want via SMS. Others, IM is good enough. For some, just reading on the site is plenty.
