HD Capable would be nice, but probably not possible for that pricetag.
personally i think bluray will never take off. i think the physical content delivery is almost dead. it's all internet now. so i would not want to waste money with that.
in a dream world i would love to see boxee somehow getting together with the dreambox system. i'd still like to have some satellite tv programs and the idea of dreambox is great, they just suck in their user interface, which is was boxee makes great. they could be a perfect match. but i know that wouldn't be an easy job to combine.

Re: boxee blog » a boxee box?

i know the vendors would love to see everyone get a new tv. but fact is that most people do not even own a flatscreen. i would rather get a dedicated 99-199 box from a userinterface expert like boxee that getting an all in one tv with a wifi antenna but from a vendor who has no idea what the internet is really like.
the fact is: most tv companies have no clue how to design a slick user interface, just look at the standard remote control. didn't change over the last few decades. still confusing like hell.

Re: Why Passive-Aggressive Twitter Following Is Spam

i read his article. it seems ridiculous to make such a big show from it with lots of philosophy behind it, while it's just the old mass follow game. how did he manage to follow so many people without losing his account?

anyway, probs to him to get the attention he got now. reputation does not seem to be on his agenda.

Re: 8 Essential Free Social Media Monitoring Tools

A friend of mine just released twilert.
Well worth a try

http://www.twilert.com/

Re: Updated: T-Mobile USA Will Ditch The Traditional Deck To Mirror Apple's App Store

This will not work.

1) 31 Million customers are a lot, but how many actually know how to do more with the phone than call and SMS? My guess: <30%. So there are less than 10 MIllion customer with the knowledge how to install an app.

2) How to tell every customer that this feature exists? Okay these 30% are tech savy people. Lets pretend 50% will know about it. So we talking about 5 million potential customers for my developed aps.

3) These 5 Million customers split between hundreds of phone types, a couple of operating systems and various screen sizes. it will be impossible to write one app for all of the phones. let's pretend i can cover 10% of the phones with one app. so i'm looking at 500.000 customers that are able to buy my program.

So why should i develope for 500.000 user with crappy operating systems and programming languages if i can do it much easier, with super slick developer software and language for a sexy toy named iphone, with an insanely fast growing, tech hungry, easy money spending 10.000.000 potential buyers, where 8 of them didn't even think for too long to buy a 1000 Dollar app :)

Why the heck should i do it T-Mobile?
I question that this store will ever go live.
