in Why Passive-Aggressive Twitter Following Is Spam on Social Media Rockstar
i read his article. it seems ridiculous to make such a big show from it with lots of philosophy behind it, while it's just the old mass follow game. how did he manage to follow so many people without losing his account?
anyway, probs to him to get the attention he got now. reputation does not seem to be on his agenda.

I'm not here to pick on any one guy, but I don't think this kind of behavior is cool or virtuious in any way. It's just the old mass follow game.. without being legitimate and respectful about it.

in Is DiggBar Twitter’s New Power Tool? on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
@Jimmy
i don't even see a shade of grey here
1)the site profits more from digg with traffic than digg profits from the site. digg sends the traffic.
2)the ads they use are not connected to the site. they seem to appear when the user pushes the next button on every x times
3)they do not scrape or safe and index the content from your site. iframe often gets put in the same corner (although not seen as bad) as scraper. yet the iframe does not index your content or take any profit from it. they profit by establishing a channel to drive traffic to your site. thats almost the same when i place an chorlink to your site
4) they do not use your site to generate traffic. they have the traffic and the brand and just channel the traffic to you.
actually googles search index is much worse when you check all the points that i made.

There is no profit. When shown amongst a frame (with Digg domain in address bar) advertisements don't pay. It's how ad groups prevent fraud.

i know the vendors would love to see everyone get a new tv. but fact is that most people do not even own a flatscreen. i would rather get a dedicated 99-199 box from a userinterface expert like boxee that getting an all in one tv with a wifi antenna but from a vendor who has no idea what the internet is really like.
the fact is: most tv companies have no clue how to design a slick user interface, just look at the standard remote control. didn't change over the last few decades. still confusing like hell.

I would love to see something very barebone for under 100 dollar. don't even need a HDD, can be server via network. based on linux. everything else should be optional, modular and open. HD Capable would be nice, but probably not possible for that pricetag.
personally i think bluray will never take off. i think the physical content delivery is almost dead. it's all internet now. so i would not want to waste money with that.
in a dream world i would love to see boxee somehow getting together with the dreambox system. i'd still like to have some satellite tv programs and the idea of dreambox is great, they just suck in their user interface, which is was boxee makes great. they could be a perfect match. but i know that wouldn't be an easy job to combine.

in Google’s campus as seen from the Google satellite on VentureBeat
actually normal google maps pictures are a mix of aerial and satellite pictures. while the better are aerial pictures. sure there is no way to fly over the whole world, that is why most places have crappy google maps images and that is why googles is willing to pay a lot of cash to get the better space images.
so this IS news.

Most counties maintain aerial maps and have them updated occasionally. These are available for public use, Google just submits a request and uploads the images.

just a short update that germans use the euro since a couple of years now.

You're right, Jan. My apologies. I'm British, and as we keep rejecting the Euro, I forget!
That should read, "their hard-earned Euros..." - thanks!
