Lenny, you're kinds proving the author's point... You keep mentioning that the story makes sense if you pay attention to what happened in the game. Well, that turns off people who aren't familiar with the game. And for those of us that are familiar with the game... Sure, the story makes 'sense' but it just wasn't executed well. It's like the end of the Lord of the Rings books. They just finish this HUGE conflict with the ring and Mordor... Then they go back to the shire, there's a conflict but it's no big deal and wraps up quickly. Yes it made 'sense' but was totally uninteresting.

in The Friday Question - Christian Bale on Pop Critics
So, this is sad that this post came out while Nicky and I were in the hospital, but better late than never...

I thought he was great in The Prestige, but it really hard to choose just one.

I'm trying to guess what Nicky will say... "Little Women"??

in So You Think You Can Dance 2008 recap: The Top 18 on Pop Critics
I haven't seen the whole episode yet, just the first dance of the night (snore). Regarding that performance I did think that the judges tried way to hard to NOT criticize Mandy Moore when it really wasn't good choreography.

in New “W” Teaser Poster Proves Oliver Stone Is Full Of Crap on Pop Critics
Jason is right in that Oliver Stone is misleading us by saying that the portrayal of George W will be 'fair'. Stone is going to portray dialog and scenarios that he can't really say he witnessed so he's just going to give us his interpretation of it. Not really fair no matter what side of the party line you're on. And Stone has already begun to market the movie to the Bush-basher crowd with this poster.

Personally, I think it's totally accept to bash or praise a public figure for their work. But the bashing of the silly things he says is a cheap shot that doesn't really help our country.

Ana, I agree that we should leave man alone for who he is as a person. But again, if people take issue with some of his policies, it's fair and necessary for citizens to voice their displeasure. And that's for any public official.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed in this Advent Children movie. it was just a lackluster attempt to package a movie off of a great game in their series thinking it will just work. Putting Final Fantasy stories into movie is near impossible. Those games involved hours and hours of gameplay and storytelling... Hours that could have gone into studying or something else at the time :)

in Harold Perrineau is now disappointed, not bitter on Pop Critics
About the race thing, in my opinion I don't think he was trying to say racism was the 'cause' of his character being taken off the show. I think what he was trying to say is that the 'result' of a black man leaving his child fatherless is reinforcing an already negative image in our society. I personally don't believe that what happened on Lost is reinforcing that, but this is what I think his thoughts were.

Thank you Jina for your flattering comment. Having people think I look like a deranged hockey player that likes to blow kisses is always my goal.

Now I hope that I never get arrested for any major crimes because I know exactly which picture the news media will choose as my file photo. Now it's forever on the Internet.

in Lost recap, episode 4×11: “Cabin Fever” on Pop Critics
Found an interesting theory on Lostpedia, one that actually makes sense to me.

"Locke becoming the leader/caretaker of the Island was foreshadowed with Eko's last words to him, "You're next." At the time this seemed to mean Locke was the next to die but obviously that's not what happened. Eko was a potential leader/caretaker but when he failed to recognize Yemi as being a conduit for Jacob ("You speak to me as if I were your brother.") then Jacob had no use for Eko and thus killed him and Locke was picked as the next one Jacob would try to contact."

I miss Eko :(

Nevermind about the Emilys. There are 2 different Emilys. I forgot that Locke's mom met Locke about 10 years before the crash to take part in Anthony Cooper's scheme to get John's kidney. Obviously Ben's mother Emily was already dead and clearly a different actress. Here is a link about John Locke's mom

The Claire scene was just odd. I'm also thinking that the 2 Emilys are NOT a coincidence. But why is Emily so special, i have no clue. Perhaps it would help to know who Emily's father is. And I want to know WHO exactly Matthew Abaddon is or what he does. The fact that John will "owe him one" tells me that Abaddon is more powerful than what we may have assumed.
