PT - no he has not opted out of the 50 state strategy. I think the writer meant that by opting out of the public finance [since his campaign is being financed by the public anyway] IN ADDITION to his 50 state strategy is a sign of how serious he is about playing offense.

The girls had cornrows last year in Iowa. Heck today they were showing a white girl with cornrows in a movie - so I doubt that will need much explaining.

I agree - I am not one to say Obama needs to do this and that for this group or that group. But this is the ONE group that Obama owes everything to. Frankly even more than blacks because without their voting for him - many blacks would have remained on the fence saying white people will never vote for him.


As he said to his staff in Chicago on Friday, if they had not won Iowa, someone else would have come to the forefront and would have likey eventually won the nomination. He would have gotten a nice pat on the head and said better luck next time.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Obama children - I know how important my church family was to me growing up. The adults shaped me, I made memories with the other kids. The foundation of my faith was developed.



Unlike some I do not have a black limitus test for Obama, just like I never got caught up in the abortion limitus test by republicans sought to impose [despite the fact I agreed with them].



I do not expect Obama to be the best president for blacks - but for Americans. Aren't we Americans too --- do we not deserve a thriving economy that includes well paying jobs for everyone, the honest hope that we can actually afford to send our children to school without mortgaging our homes, retirement and saddling our kids with $50K student loan debt by 22?



If you cannot accept the POLITICAL FACT that Obama is not likely to be at too many Black townhall meetings, then sorry we don't travel in the same reality.



Why cannot we not disagree, and yet refrain from name calling. damn if your support of Obama is so fickle that you can't walk through a little dust up without jumping off the bandwagon - than God bless ya and wish you well with the next 4 yrs of Bush/Chenay/Rove policies.



Do you really expect to agree with Obama on every issue and decision - I don't. but I try to refrain from letting emotions get teh best of me before reaching a final position on things.



Several months ago I heard Obama say that he prays to be an instrument of God. So, how is drawing all this attention to Trinity being an instrument.



christian liberal, you suggest Obama is putting his ambition before God and while there is some merit - looking out the outside becuase we can't see his heart - it was reported that he consulted with the Pastor and that he and his wife prayed about it for some time. I think we are best in leaving the judging of men to God.



I cannot see how he could have stepped foot inside of Trinity again. recently he even announced though he was in Chicago he was not going to the church in an effort to avoid being a distraction.



When he was in serving - would God or Obama be the focus?

I guess this morning I am just playing devil's advocate and wrote about what if we are overacting just a little bit. Or at least i wonder where are the boundaries? I have heard comedians joke about Obama's safety - is it because she is an alledged newsperson that it is unacceptable for her to make teh comment.


I DON'T AGREE WITH THE JOKE AT ALL. I agree with the outrage but just trying to make sure I am not contributing to the problem ---- where we parse every single word that comes out of someone's mouth because we don't agree with their politics/beliefs.



Does this not contribute to them crucifying Obama for "bitter" comments.

i think Obama is trying to keep his word on a different type of politics and that is why he is telling fundraisers no 527s. will it come back to haunt him --- who knows.

I have to believe that this speaks to what will likely be a surprise in a few states on Super Tuesday - I almost wish they had not shared the info. But I assume they want to get the message out how energized their people are.

I cannot believe the AUDACITY of Bob Johnson to criticize Sen. Obama and parrot Sen. Clinton's whining that Obama's camp is the one who pointed out the suspect comments of Sen. Clinton. I learned about it on a blog - not connected to the campaign to my knowledge. I LISTENED TO THE COMMENTS FOR MYSELF - and imagine this - drew my own conclusion. In fact, until Sen. Clinton begin to spin this story - I never read or heard any comment from Sen. Obama or his camp.


What exactly has Johnson done to uplift the black community? Sure he created a few millionaires along the way to his billion dollar payday. The damage he wrought with the hateful music that was included along with other good hip hop music - did as much to interfere with the progress of black youth that any republican college tuition cutback ever did. And to even hint at Obama's drug use, a mistake he acknowledged versus insulting our intelligence as a previous political rockstar has, is pretty darn bold coming from Johnson. Maybe we should ask Obama what he was "listening" to and "watching" while he was doing whatever he was doing in the neighborhoods.



I never respected Johnson before, and think far less of him now. Does he care how I feel - no - he has never shown a flip about what the black community felt - just what we were willing to buy from him and his cronies.

HRC said she talked to Clyburn on Saturday and he confirmed he will not make an endorsement. She even has the gall now to say the Obama camp are the ones who have taken her comments out of context.

Actually Rev. Jackson has already endorsed Obama several months ago, but apparently his wife feels differently because she has made a commerical for Hillary in SC reportedly.


He also alluded to the fact that he is smart enough to realize Obama can't use him a great deal. He said "respect the distance and proximity that he wants" and "bridge a delicate gap."



Also I think his son, the congressman has already endorsed Obama.

Is she confused about which nomination she is running for - I realize the repugs is up for grabs but dang. She is actually criticizing him for trying to suggest their should be a little sanity and mercy when considering drug sentencing.
