in Your Brand Needs Help: What Brands Are Doing Wrong on Twitter on Mr Tweet Blog
I love your post, however I disagree with the 'Big Brother' statement. If I follow a brand, I care enough to get information from them. If I have a problem, I may expect to further the conversation thru DM. Of course I want them to follow me back! If I didn't care, I wouldn't follow!

Corvida For users that are unaware of who's behind they account, they may think it's just spam. For some, a company following them on Twitter automatically makes them think "spam!". Not everyone does this, as you've noted, but it's the usual response.

I've loved the opportunity to actually meet the folks I've followed/friended online and agree with Tonia Hammer. Those communities that can have both online and offline relationships provide the most value.

Plus, beer is much better shared together than at your desk. ;)

Love Twitter and love to have quick responses. Please, please, please don't let me fall into the trap. I don't want to be tethered to anything. Social media has allowed us to see the 'human' side of companies and others. Shouldn't we expect them to even act human?

Thanks for the reminder and the leadership to show us you're human as well.

Thank you so much for this! I subscribe to you on FriendFeed because I value your opinion and comments. While I'm not really a 'techie', I really enjoy learning about new technology and gadgets. I have also noticed the same info and rarely read any of my RSS feeds, but find myself going to Feedly, and FriendFeed for my news. I love that you said, and saw on this post, you're getting rid of the jerks! Kindness, tolerance and respect go a long way.

in What Social Media Does Best on Chris Brogan
Love it! While it seems like people feel computers and less face-to-face communication is creating barriers to personal relationships, social media brings back the 'human element' to conversation. Not only am I able to share 'business' perspectives and learnings, I'm also able to 'meet' the person and get some understanding of who they are socially. How cool!

Congrats on the cool interview! Sounds like you're enjoying Chicago and the relatively new gig at the paper!

OK, not obscure, but I love del.icio.us! And love FireFox. Still trying to figure out how Feedly may work in my life, but it is intriguing.

zachlandes feedly is very cool - but lately, FriendFeed has replaced all the other aggregators for me. I expect this to be a very common trend. A very powerful new thing has been unlocked - instead of the web's most popular articles making the top of your page, your friend's most popular pages are making the top of the homepage. And that's great for relevance and for engendering discussion.

Great post and love the movie High Fidelity!!! LOVE John Cusack and laughed uncontrollably at their music references throughout the movie. My husband and friends often have music 'top 5's' for situations, etc.

There is a similar store in AZ called Zia Records. Just something about buying CDs from purple-haired sales people that makes you feel like you're cool.

Tony It's always a plus to visit a store where the salespeople are totally proficient in what they are selling. Some examples:

- Home Depot
- Guitar Center
- Apple stores (some)

I think it's part of the reason why these businesses are still thriving.
