Awesome post John,

I was a HUGE AOLer at one time. Folks don't realize how much of an impact AOL had on the Internet. AOL was Social Media back in the Dial-up Days..;-) I still remember the day I got my first "YOU'VE Got Mail" How thrilling it was and then over time how annoying..;-)lol AOL really paved the way for all social media and really does not get its just due.

Awesome list. I am using a lot of the tools you have listed. I would include Hootsuite.com for those who want to organize their tweets with a web based tool. I would also include the Jing Project and Camtasia Studio. Both are products from Techsmith and are great for screen and video capture for those of us who are still using PC's.

Hey Kim I like Bing as well.

The 2 things I like are the looking up of airfares using their Bing Travel feature. Just type in the 2 airports you want to fly from and to (ATL to LGA) and Bing with do a search of the cheapest fares and give you a price prediction on if the fare would be increasing or decreasing.

The other cool feature is looking up videos and being able to roll over the picture thumbnail and see the video play before you even have to go to that website.

Great post on image resizing software. If some of your readers are still using Windows XP they may want to consider Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/po...

I was looking for a bulk image resizing software as well and came across this one for Windows XP and you know me Peggy when its FREE it is for ME..;-)

There are 14 power toys in all and I have only used the Image Resizer but it worked like a charm and I was very happy with the results.

I am more surprised that it lasted this long. Never understood the business model of focusing a search engine on one race. It didn't really make sense to me. I do wish the folks that currently work there the best after RMD shuts its doors.

We'd love to add Facebook but there is not currently any way to publicly get the FB friend count (at least not that we know of).
