in gym of the future on Zebra
A great addition to that would be to design entire self sufficient gyms that house equipment that efficiently converts your workout (not just cardio, but weightlifting) into electrical energy that would power the entire gym. In a single day, imagine how many reps at different weights are done on a squat machine, late pulldown, bench press, etc. And imagine in addition to cardio machines that produce energy we could make weight machines that convert our weight workouts into energy (I think this can be done fairly simply and I am sure there are already designs out there). In addition to monitoring your monthly workout goals, you would be able to see how much energy you've produced for that gym which would drive down membership costs. And if the process is very efficient you could get paid for working out by providing surplus energy for the community...now that's motivation.
