in What’s your biggest Apple related pet peeve? on BabyGotMac
Productivity is a huge plus for Macs. I think that the ease of the Mac keystrokes and the tendency for developers to steer away from monolithic applications are two major factors for this.

And you're right, we aren't all 18 year old trendsetters flaunting our macs every chance we get. OK, Ok... maybe just the 18 year old part is true :)

Oh, and I like the term Stevebot, thats a good one!

WOW, I really like the new look Scott! It has a nice feel to it. One of these days I'm going to have to get around to redesigning my blog. Keep up the great work!

I can honestly say that all of those really bug me. I guess no one thing bugs me the most. I just can't stand when people say... "You have a Mac?" in that surprised disgusted tone of voice. All I can think of is... "Damn right I have a Mac and its a hell of a lot cooler than your 4 year old Windows computer chalk full of Spyware, Malware, Adware, and all sorts of other evil junk."

in iBoughtAMac Logo Contest Winner on I Bought a Mac
Hey brent, nice to see the contest was a success! The logo looks nice and fits well with the site design. You'll have to see if Christopher would be nice enough to review the AppleTV for iBAM :)

If you are just looking for how far a product is into its life cycle another good site http://buyersguide.macrumors.com . It pretty much provides the same info as Mactactic except it has a few more stats and provides links to recent rumors about the product.

Good luck on your future Mac purchase Johan! I made the switch earlier this year and haven't regretted a thing :)

Brent,

Thanks for the kind words. I hope all is going smoothly with your logo contest! I can't wait to see the results. I got my MBP in January and have throughly enjoyed my experience thus far. I can't believe how true most of the raves about OS X are. I was a bit skeptical at first since nothing is ever as it seems. But I should have known :) If anyone out there is still on the fence and iboughtamac.com still hasn't convinced you to make the switch, just take a leap of faith. Its well worth it and you won't regret it.

in Updated layout - fewer ads, more content! on BabyGotMac
Scott,

I love the change. Things look great around here! I really like the color scheme :) Good luck with the new ad system. Hopefully it'll bring in a bit more cash than adsense was.

in South Park profiled on Apple.com on BabyGotMac
WOW! I thought working 70 hours a week was alot o.O The article is right though. If South Park wasn't so timely then it wouldn't be nearly as funny. Seeing parodies days after something crazy happens rather than weeks is awesome. Granted I haven't watched South Park for a few years, but it was pretty funny back then ;p

in Who are you (who, who)? on BabyGotMac
I'm Nick Young, and I'm a switcher. I've been using Windows computers for most of my life. While in college getting my BA Computer Science I used Linux based computers for 4 years and then continued using them once I graduated. Like you I learned to harness the power of the command line and that is one of the biggest draws to OS X for me. I don't have to worry about getting goofy ports of pearl/php for windows. I wish I had more time to code, but alas, the fun stuff always gets put on the back burner.

I switched to Mac because I was ready for something different. I was sick of the same ol' thing day in and day out. I never had a huge problem with spyware/malware as I was a pretty vigilant user, but the looming threat was still a constant worry. Having the power of the command line packaged with a clean usable interface hits the sweet spot for me.

My switching to Mac also prompted me to start up a blog Keynote2Keynote. I decided that it would be neat to document my experience as a Mac user.

In the real world I'm still trying to figure out what the hell I want to do with my life. I've dabbled here and there with a few things, but haven't found anything that I want to do as a career yet. I'm not in too much of a hurry though, because I'm a kid at heart and love the adventure of getting from point A to B more than actually being there.
