Thank you for offering this as a radical attempt at poking fun at election 08 politics. I think that most people commenting don't understand where this is coming from; at least as I understand it this is partially working out of McLaren's whole little thing of coming out and endorsing Obama recently and the tension that has caused between people who tend to be on the more anarchist side of things but working alongside with McLaren's crowd. I know among some of my friends McLaren's endorsement created quite a bit of heated discussion.

Wow. I was reading this article in my feedreader, and didn't take notice of which category it's in (which is typical). At the beginning I was mildly annoyed at the disconnect between the pastor and the "poor" (as if they're a whole other set of people), but by the end I was fully frustrated (and mildly relieved by the satire indicator).
This is one of those cases where well-written satire can be much more effective than any persuasive article ever would be.

Sounds great...sounds like I should go dumpster-raiding myself...it might help us actually view the poor as they see themselves. Wouldn't that be radical.
