in Disturbed About Reactions to Kathy Sierra’s Post on Climb to the Stars

This is an issue that does not leave me cold, however I have already commented elsewhere on two different blogs, and that is more than what I think that I have time for right now. Still, here goes the third comment: I like what you write, and indeed one must take a cool calm head and look at the facts. I do not like the lynching-mob attitude that I have found elesewhere in the blogoshpere. And given what I know, I basically know nothing other than this is serious.

Thanks for your balanced and carefully thought-out post.

Well that just about covers most of it when it comes to bridging the language gap, and as far as I can see this is one element of communication. People do want to communicate with others even when languag is a bridge that needs to be crossed.

in Dannie Jost — Blogging is not about blogging on Climb to the Stars

Thank Steph! It was a great discussion, and I think that you got the important points down. This is just the beginning of the conversation. I do look forward to continuing it.

in Web 2.0 … The Machine is Us/ing Us on Climb to the Stars

Thanks for pointing this out. I like it.

There is this one not very old wise guy who died the same year that I was born, that was very fond of pointing to humans as machines, it was John von Neumann.

UHM... one can bitch, but in a few generations that is going to be one hot little item. Let them work out the bugs and bring it up to speed, or wait for the copies, the clones, the improvements. Either way, it is a step in the direction of things to come.

Anyhow Robert, I got your point.

in Book sales go up with free content? on Scobleizer
In my not so humble opinion I think when one is talking about electronic publishing and paper publishing, we are not talking about the same product.

I do not curl up in my bed with my Mac - although I love it too - and read something in electronic format, however one of those special nurturing activities of mine does involve that very activity of tucking myself under a down comforter with a good book.

Somehow we are all saying the same thing, it is just that some established business processes (read, paradigms) can not deal with the simple reality of multiple products from one creation. Capitalism does have some major flaws built-in.

ecto

I love "ecto" and it does come in a Win version too which I have used only a couple of times. I usually use the mac version, and do like it very very much.
