I do not know you Kyle but I follow your blog because my husband is Chilean (but we live in the States, though I met him in Chile). YOU ARE AMAZING! Generosity out of solidarity is so respectable, and even though we are broke I will try and buy a photograph of yours (plus they are beautiful).

Just made me think of a new "How to" that covers enjoying Spanish wine and remaining functional at the office. A glass of wine would certainly make my Friday afternoon in front a computer a lot more pleasant.

I second Knut's motion, but when that is not an economically viable option, I say reach for Carbona. The stuff is magical. My friend had an entire glass of red wine spilled on him at a party I threw and we used it on the spot to deal with the mess.

Sorry that happened to you Kyle. It is so unfair that women are targets for this type of thuggery. San Cristobal is really dangerous, though. My host mom is a runner/cyclist and goes up the hill every day with a partner. Maybe you want to join her sometime? She is a lot of fun and wouldn't take any of that flaite nonsense either.

I actually don't have one! Maybe I should start. If your camera guy ever falls through and you have an issue I know a great place in Providencia, this viejito that runs an old-school shop that fixes cameras quickly. . .

I wanted to let you know that I am also a gringa married to a chilean who took the (very long, complicated, pain-in-the-butt) route of moving to the States instead of staying in Chile. The cross-cultural issues in a couple are usually funny, often confusing, and sometimes annoying. Wanted to let you know there is another of you out here!

This is so cool. I love the space you have dedicated to sherry! My husband and I have been enjoying drinking sherries more and more, but had very little background information beforehand and primarily drank them after a meal. I feel empowered to do some more experimenting.
