If you have a look at the current Indian web 2.0 sites, most of them are based on US idea like youtube, social networking etc. Most of these sites are not able to get enough resources to make people shift from the US counterparts. Only some sites like Indianpad.com are able to get some share of their US counterparts like Reddit.

Re: Free application suite that will change the way we work.

A good review. Its good to see Indian Startups getting more publicity. Zoho definitely seems a great startup with quality products. I have used the Zoho Polls and they seem a dream to me.

I applaud your effort of trying to make Zoho more popular, and urge others to follow. Lets make Indian Startups popular!

Re: Patni pays rightful wages to its Employees after 3 years – nearly $2.4 Million !

I don't know how the others have managed. The abuse of H1b by Indian Companies is a long story. Analyzing the risks of new India.

Figures can be decieving, the tertiary sector in India where most foreign investors are putting their money is growing at a much much faster rate. Moreover infrastructure and many other problems don't cause too much problem in tertiary sector. Inflation is a concern but overall the buying power of an average Indian is increasing and hence there is a huge market to tap. India definitely deserves more investment. The only problem in India is the political problems, where ruling parties change and suddenly the entire development plans change, except that India is a great place to put your money in.

Re: Indian Telecommunication story: From 10 million to 150 million mobile subscribers in 5 years.

Definitely the scope of Telecommunication industry in India is huge, the scope of broadband is quite low because for now the average Indian knows what a phone is, he knows how to operate it but not internet.

Most people of one generation above us know how to call and receive calls but not sms and other features of the phones. They will get mobile connections but not internet connections. But with things moving online like airlines ticketing, railways tickets and other such things, this trend just might change.

Re: The “King of good times” has done it again: Is the world ready ?

One more way to describe Mr Mallya is by saying that he is the Richard Branson of India. It is one of the oldest indian portals managing to maintain quality and consistency for such a long time. Definitely it will be a great addition for any company (Google or Yahoo!) in making a big stride into the Indian Market.

Re: Indian Real Estate prices: How I made fool of myself

Indian Real Estate is going to go up for sometime atleast. Will such a strategy evolve? Quite difficult. The poverty line, the low income, the low infrastructure will not attract an industry like gaming.

Re: Women making hard choices

A very interesting article indeed. Being in a relationship across such vast distances is ofcourse very very difficult (ofcourse marriage ads more pressure). Trying to manage something like this myself.

Anyways, really like ur conclusion, "Women can have it all. They just can’t have it all at the same time." but I think it applies to supportive men as well ;)

Re: Ah, advertising

I don't know if this most appropriate but I have an old post where google is advertising strange words in gmail.
