in January 3, 2008 - A Dream Forms Real Roots on Jack and Jill Politics
I was in Los Angeles visiting with my Mom. I had my laptop and watched a live-stream show where they were giving a minute-by-minute update of the caucus votes as they came in. I remember getting giddy as Obama finally broke through into first place ... and when it was obvious he won, I remember getting my Mom from her room and turning on network TV (she doesn't have cable) to watch his victory speech.
We were both had tears in our eyes with happiness, pride and joy that night...

in Speeches on Jack and Jill Politics
Excellent analysis. I am right with you on all three speeches and all three leaders. I cannot be more proud of Barack Obama than I was last night in watching his speech. I look forward to him becoming the 44th President of the United States...

in Johnny "Come Lately" Edwards To Endorse Democratic Nominee on Jack and Jill Politics
I would have preferred Edwards' endorsement before Ohio, Pennsylvania or his home state of North Carolina. However, as it turns out he & Obama were brilliant to come out with it the day after the West Virginia results.
Now, the proof of Edwards' moxie comes if he can round up some endorsements (like he did with the Steelworkers' Union) and uncommitted superdelegates...

in Top Ten Black Blogs for April 2008 on Jack and Jill Politics
Nita - Can you direct me to verification on Bossip.com not being Black owned & operated? I understand that Jossip.com is white-owned as was Stereohyped.com (which was taken off the list a few months ago). However, your comment is the first that I've heard from anyone questioning the ownership of Bossip.com. Can you point me to verification of your claim?

in Open Thread: Ann Coulter and Other Republicans Compare Obama to Hitler on Jack and Jill Politics
My first time hearing about these comments from Ann Coulter. She truly is a sick human being. I've noticed that she and Pat Buchanan are not appearing very much on cable television any longer. Maybe most of the MSM understands the racial sickness that they each have been preaching is unacceptable in 2008...

Keith's comments are on point. I sense that the contest is starting to slip away from Team Clinton. I hope that the number of superdelegates supporting Obama will keep growing ... he got Sen. Casey (D-PA) today...

in Obama On Why Him Over Clinton: "Hillary Doesn’t Believe In Bottom Up Democracy" (video) on Jack and Jill Politics
Excellent video of Obama's comprehensive response to the question of why he is better choice than Hillary Clinton. My hope is that Hillary will simply concede the election, although it doesn't appear that she will go quietly into the night...

in Top Ten Black Blog Rankings — Feb 2008 on Jack and Jill Politics
All - The overwhelming majority of Black blogs are not 'entertainment genre. Even the Top 25 has very few 'entertainment' blogs. My observation is that the entertainment blogs started earlier than the rest of us. Much of their success is based on consistency and length of their service.
Anon - Good point on Debra Dickerson and MojoBlog. It appears the blog is not Black-owned as it is a non-profit organization that runs it. I guess you would suggest that it be removed from the list, huh? Her blog (The Last Plantation) has been added to the BBR as a result of your comment...

in The Trouble with Francis - Whitosphere vs Blackosphere on Jack and Jill Politics
Interesting to see how things have progressed in the past few weeks. It appears that the Afrosphere is growing. I think that is a good thing. When we are unwelcome to the 'ol boyz club' it is up to us to create our own. I hope that we are able to engender the spirit of Umoja as the afrosphere evolves in the coming weeks.
