in City’s ‘fatal gradualism’ stymies real progress on The New Mexico Independent
Anyone contemplating a run for mayor in 2009, as well as those voting for the next mayor, would do well to read this article and take the posed questions to heart. As usual, VB Price has his finger on the pulse of the city, understands the planning dilemmas the metropolitan area is facing and will continue to face, and has the ability to offer wise and well-considered ideas that can benefit politicians, planners, and local residents.
By the way, it's great to be able to read VB's column again, post-Tribune.

in Cradles of hope, with love to Africa on The New Mexico Independent
In her article, Denise Tessier captured the essence of this extraordinary exhibit. I visited the Cradle Project exhibit with an out-of-state friend, and we were both very moved by the concept, objectives, and creative installations. The combined efforts of Naomi Natale and the participating artists represent their clear understanding and application of their roles as global citizens. Their efforts are admirable and can serve as models for others, as we too look for ways to help others and serve humanity---even across the artificially drawn boundaries of nationhood. --S.Clair

in Honeybees at risk on The New Mexico Independent
I am fortunate to have attended two of four all-day beekeeping workshops at Tesuque Pueblo, with Les Crowder as the instructor. Denise's excellent article clearly describes some of the severe consequences of NOT employing sustainable agricultural methods. The food crisis that is now part of the daily news will only become worse if we don't produce and protect healthy pollinators. "All we are saying is, give bees a chance."
