Admiral Komack, I saw you cross-posted this over at that CRAZY blog "Tennessee Guerilla Women"--the responses so far have been what I'd expect: a lot of "feminist" craptrap along the lines of "how dare this MAN tell us WOMEN what to think!" or "how dare this MAN call us WOMEN racist--we're nothing of the kind!" Of course, the ad hominems are flowing fast and furious.

I didn't think he had a snowball's chance on a hot oven. I even said, "I'll vote for Hillary--Obama needs another term in the Senate and maybe he could run in '12 or '16." I even thought that I'd vote for him, but knew that Clinton would win the nomination.


And then there was Obama's New Hampshire speech. I was converted. And then he came to South Carolina and I heard him speak. I read his policy positions, and the more I heard from him, I knew I had to change my vote.

TLW, the war and economic issues that affect African Americans are interrelated. This "damn foreign war" cost the US over a trillion dollars--what do you think this country could have done with those dollars? Do you think the 4,000 dead soldiers are all white? By your logic, MLK's opposition to the Vietnam War was a "bourgeois" concern (read his speech "A Time To Break Silence" given on April 4, 1967).

Fallacy three: What threat did Iraq pose to the world?

Oh, d., your arguments amount to nothing more than circular reasoning and red herrings. You keep arguing that we have some "mission" there--what was that mission in 2003 when the United States invaded? Further, you claim that the 'terrorists' we're fighting aren't even Iraqi--has it not occurred to you that they might not even BE in Iraq had we not destabilized it so thoroughly?


Further, does it make sense to have all this chaos (4,000 American soldiers dead, thousands more horribly disfigured/maimed, over half a MILLION Iraqis dead) based on "suspect"--nay, flat-out WRONG--intelligence?



And finally, how will we know when we've completed "the mission"? Have you not seen how Bush and Co. keep shifting the "mission"? After all, did not Bush himself parachute onto the USS Abraham Lincoln and declare "mission accomplished"? That was several years ago--what, pray tell, was the mission then?
