Stephen King has spoken well of Rowling's work many times. Her achievements seem to resonate with some of his own values in storytelling: having fun writing, not being plot-driven, and spinning a captivating yarn.
I've always admired Jerry Falwell while at the same time wincing at many of his outlandish remarks. At heart I believe, he was, a champion for Christ and to his credit he did apologize for some of his most inflammatory comments.
As a Christian I think his passing can be celebrated, but I'd celebrate it within the context of faith. It would not be possible for any of us to accurately gauge whether he went to heaven or not but on the basis of his professed faith, the compass certainly points up rather than down.
