however, garden fresh is all about making fake meat with strange ingredients. embracing fruits and vegetables for all of their delicious qualities is, to me, a much better way to go. (yes, i know, this is like night and day compared to 3 years ago. blame in defense of food, and farm sanctuary. highly recommended reads.)
trying to eat in season is also fantastic (and i have to thank spud for this one). it really brings more pleasure to cooking, and you have to get more creative.
these days, i'll take vegetable burritos, creamy tomato soup, or pesto pasta over fake cashew chicken any day. (which, actually, are all vegan except for the cheese. stupid cheese...)
What he didn't mention about the first point is that I'm the one who told him that. And, it makes a huge difference because I refuse to eat the yellow versions and the white ones taste delicious!
Thanks go to spud.com for offering organic cheddar cheese which is white in color. (That's what led me to wiki to find out why)
(ps - if you want to try out spud let us know and we can both get $25 with a referral)
