in Day Job Killer Review (condemned) on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
I've tried a few DJK techniques, and I'm striking out so far. There's one more I need to give a go, but it's gonna take more time to set up, and time's the one thing I've been short on lately. I think the ideas are sound, but for whatever reason, I can't put them into practice right now.

One of the craziest things I've seen online. Too bad it's not like the pillow fights of my dreams - college-age girls in their underwaer ;(

in Zune Incompatable with Windows Vista on Joseph Crawford
I am a Microsoft fan, in that I use only Windows on a daily basis. But this is classic Microsoft... not thinking things through all the way. You're right, they'll figure out a way to hack it up and make it work, but then we may be looking at some sort of compatibility issues just the same.
Sigh. A company that big should keep the head and the ass on the same page, no?

in Spam Issues (or why Akismet isn’t proving worth the money) on Technosailor
This is a picture-perfect example of why customer service is absolutely crucial. You understand that sometimes things go wrong, and issues can take some time to resolve. A simple email "hey we're working on it, should be fixed soon!" would've likely smoothed things over until the problem was resolved. The lack of any answer at all is inexcusable.

in Democracy Plugin XSS Vulnerability ALERT on Technosailor
Aaron,
I may feel differently if one of my sites had been hacked - that'll certainly give you a different perspective on the matter. Either way, it's necessary to post the expoit so that a fix can be produced, whether by the author or someone else. Good to see that the author did come up with a fix, so that people had a solution instead of a freak-out period of waiting.

in Democracy Plugin XSS Vulnerability ALERT on Technosailor
It's a shame that it always takes the public posting of the exploit for the author to fix the problem. Although I can't be too hard on someone who creates a plugin at no cost, so I don't know. Mixed feelings as usual.
Can you hold the author liable for any problems, even though his software is free? I'm not sure that it's fair to do so.

in American English on Technosailor
I have trouble getting mad about the way any people pronounce everything. Being from the east coast of America myself, and living in Texas, I've seen polar opposites in the way people pronounce English words. Does it upset me? Not in the least.
There are as many different dialects and pronunciations as there are places in the world. Might as well get used to it and enjoy the variety.

in All Work and No Play on Technosailor
Any business that you begin on your own starts out that way, whether it's blogging or some other "real world" business. All you do is work work work for the few year or two or three. Once you get throught the tough period, things tend to lighten up and you can work a regular schedule and make enough money.
A break may do you some good though - it never hurts to back off just a little.

You're right Carol - I think we can lay the blame for this squarely on Darren.
I'm not sure writing about poodles would have been much better - who knows what his twisted mind would have come up with?

Carol,
OMG Spam and Aaron's back end? I'm not eating for the rest of the day ;(
Sometimes I hate having a very visual imagination.

in Middle East Violence on Technosailor
I support Israel 100% in this war. They have done nothing but try to defend themselves in the best way they can. Like my old man always says, don't pick on someone bigger than you, and then go crying when you get your ass kicked.

I think this is a pretty good idea, as long as you're still being impartial with regards to the outcome of the review. Looking forward to see how it works out.

in YPN Sees MySpace as Evil, Bans Publishers on Technosailor
I agree that myspace is the suck; i hate it. But is it really OK to ban a publisher from using YPN simply because of the source of traffic? It just seems grossly unfair to me.
