You got flamed because your comments on Nielsen were stupid and juvenile and resorted to personal attacks, while his article was well thought out, made good points, and didn't mention you once. The general message of many of the comments was, "Grow up Scoble. Nielsen is right on this one."

I don't know much about Jakob Nielsen, but I know that I had to stop reading blogs, because the whole blogosphere has become a stream of endless BS that is not worth my time. I think we should fix that.

I generally agree with his Jakob's analysis. I've not found one blogger that is worth reading all the time. At most their are only a few worthwhile posts per week. What's the point of wasting my life reading through all the BS?

I used to run my sites off of a cheapo hosting plan. I don't know what I was thinking. I recently switched to a HostMySite. They are reasonably priced and more than willing to help you with the more complicated aspects of server management. They offer a nice series of options starting with shared accounts and moving up to VPS, servers and multi-server systems depending on your needs.

I'd imagine that some of you friends could put together a system for automating splog detection and reporting to ISPs. It could work much like the spam detection at the major mail portals. When enough people report a splog then it gets shut down. ISP that don't shut down splogs get blacklisted.

Great marketing happens when you drop the barriers, forget that marketing is your profession, and focus on connecting with people and letting them know what you or your company are all about. My favorite marketers are artists, the genuine kind, because they are totally into their craft and they just want to tell you about it. Ideally, that's what marketing should be like, even if you are selling insurance.
